Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 3

The moment Camilla picked up, Barbara’s voice blared through.

“Camilla, what on earth are you talking about? Divorce? Absolutely not!”-

Camilla’s reply was steady, almost empty. “I just… can’t keep living with him. He doesn’t love me.”

Barbara let out a long sigh. “How can you even say that? Daniel is gentle, thoughtful, successful. Marrying him was the best luck you’ll ever have. If he doesn’t love you, did you ever stop to wonder if maybe you’re the problem here? Are you sure you’re doing enough for him?”

That was always Barbara’s line.

Everyone else said the same kind of thing.

Now Camilla understood. This was mental manipulation.

She didn’t bother arguing.

She didn’t want to say anything at all.

She just felt exhausted.

Barbara claimed it was all for Camilla’s own good, but in the end, she’d taken everything—family, friends, even love.

When Camilla stayed silent, Barbara’s voice got sharper, more insistent. “Don’t be stupid, Camilla. Even if you don’t care about yourself, think about Mom and Dad. They raised you. Are you really planning to break their hearts after everything they’ve done?”

Her parents, Lean and Adah, cared about appearances more than anything else. If they ever found out she wanted a divorce, there was no way they’d let it happen.

Camilla knew the path ahead was going to be rough.

“I need to go. Something’s come up. Don’t overthink this—and don’t mention divorce ever again, okay?”

Barbara hung up before she could say a word. Right away, she called Daniel.

Daniel was on his way with his father to meet the head of the White family.

Their family was just a side branch, but to most people, they looked like royalty—wealthy beyond belief.

But only those on the inside knew the truth. Compared to Lambert White, their wealth was nothing.

Every deal they landed depended on Lambert’s backing.

Out of all the White family’s side branches, theirs was the most comfortable, but it was all built on someone else’s generosity.

A man stood at the window, his black matte phone caught between long, elegant fingers, his skin was pale under the office lights, smooth and immaculate against the dark phone.

A voice came from the phone, full of curiosity. “Lambert, did you really buy that yacht?”

Lambert White made a noncommittal sound.

The person on the other end couldn’t hide his shock. “You bought that? Why?”

That kind of yacht wasn’t just big—it was a status symbol, reserved for the super rich. Lambert always kept a low profile. Flashy toys never interested him.

There were less than 150 superyachts like that in the whole world.

Which meant less than 150 billionaires could call one their own.

Those people kept their names secret, hiding their identities from the press. Things like the Forbes list meant nothing to them.

Just building one of those yachts cost over three hundred million dollars.

Keeping it at the dock and maintaining it? That could run into the hundreds of thousands every single day.
