Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 4

The crew alone was already a big expense, especially since there were engineers on board too. Each year, just paying those salaries added up to a small fortune.

For most people, the world of superyachts existed in another universe, way above the normal hierarchies of money and fame. It was as if you needed to be born into the clouds to even set foot there. But Lambert never cared about that. He never needed showy things to prove who he was.-

There was a soft, respectful knock at the door. Lambert said into his phone, “I’ll call you back,” before putting it away.

A few moments later, Daniel came face-to-face with Lambert White.

Lambert was born when his father was already old, the youngest in a family full of successful relatives. Counting all his cousins, he was seventh in line, but he was definitely the most prominent. Daniel was from the same generation but, honestly, every time he saw Lambert, he could hardly breathe.

It wasn’t that Lambert was scary-looking. Far from it. The Whites had a reputation for looking unfairly good, and Lambert was the reason people kept repeating it. And he was. Lambert was movie-star handsome.

But the thing that really got you when you met him wasn’t how he looked—it was the energy he carried. He wore perfectly tailored clothes: a crisp shirt, fitted vest, and dress pants. He looked neat, almost scholarly, but somehow he owned the whole room just by being in it. His sleeves were rolled up, a black leather strap around each forearm, showing off the strength underneath the polish. Looking at him, you could feel the impact without him saying a single word.

His kind of good-looking was bold, even a little intimidating. Those deep eyes of his always seemed a bit cold, making you nervous to get too close.

Jackson, who technically outranked Lambert by age, should have called the shots in the room. But nobody played the elder in front of Lambert. Jackson’s tone was so respectful while reporting on the company’s projects that you’d think he was talking to royalty.

Daniel stood by, not daring to interrupt, just watching Lambert. He had no idea how to even describe this powerhouse of a man. People naturally admired strength—especially men. Daniel couldn’t help but wonder when he’d ever be as successful as Lambert, running an entire business empire, commanding respect wherever he went.

“Daniel?”

His father’s voice yanked him back to reality.

Daniel straightened up immediately. “Yes?”

“Mr. White just asked you something.”

Lambert reached for a fancy-looking invitation card next to him—it had gold embossing and looked expensive even from a distance. He slid it toward Daniel. “There’s a yacht party this weekend. Bring your wife along.”

Daniel and Jackson both froze, caught off guard and honestly kind of ecstatic. Getting an invite to one of Lambert’s parties was a huge deal, something most people would never even dream about. And the fact that Lambert had handed over the invitation himself? That was something they could brag about for years.

They left his office almost tripping over themselves to express their thanks. Outside, Jackson ran a hand across his sweaty forehead. He already knew—the company’s next year was basically guaranteed.

Daniel finally let himself breathe again, then hurried off to call Barbara back.

She checked up on him as usual, then cut straight to the point. “Hey, are things really okay with you and Camilla? I tried calling her just now, and she says… she wants a divorce?”

“What?” Daniel was caught off guard, then suddenly furious. “She said she wants a divorce?”
