Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 58

Camilla just stood there, staring at him in total silence. Her eyes said it all, sharp with disdain and a hint of mockery. Honestly, she could barely bring herself to look at Daniel. Every time she saw his face, she felt sick to her stomach.

Daniel tried to hold her gaze and blurted out, “Don’t look at me like that. Am I wrong?”

“You’re right,” Camilla replied, her voice flat.

“Then tell me, has he gotten in touch with you or not?”

Camilla fought off the urge to gag and shook her head. “No. Listen to what I told you. You’ve got eight days to decide. After that, if you don’t give me an answer, I’m telling everyone the truth.”

She didn’t give him another look. She just slammed the door behind her.

Daniel stood there, shocked for a second, then started banging on the door. “Camilla! What do you mean? Camilla, talk to me…!”

His words got cut off when two huge guys appeared out of nowhere. They grabbed him, one on each side, and started dragging him toward the elevator.

“Hey! Who the hell are you guys? Let go of me!”

Back inside, Camilla didn’t even care what was going on outside. With the door finally closed, the apartment was calm again, and her nausea started to fade.

She picked up her phone and messaged Barbara: If Daniel refuses the divorce, I’m going public. Everyone will know exactly who he is. Stop contacting me. I’m serious.

Barbara called right away. Camilla didn’t answer, just declined every call without hesitation.

Daniel leaned in, voice low. “Why not? I never touched her, so maybe she was still a virgin. If Owen is the first, maybe he feels sorry for her now. Plus, you have to admit, Camilla is gorgeous…”

“Yeah, she is,” Barbara said quietly, sounding a little sad. “So many guys liked her growing up. Not like me. I never knew how to talk to boys at all…”

“Don’t say that!” Daniel jumped in right away. “All Camilla has is her looks. She’s completely shallow. She can’t even hold a candle to you, Barbie. You’ve got class and integrity. She’s not even close to your level.”

Barbara felt a little better hearing that. She might not have thought much of Daniel, but she hated hearing him talk up another woman in front of her, especially Camilla.

“I’m just being honest,” Daniel insisted. “Anyway, I have no idea how she got Owen wrapped around her finger. If he’s on her side, what do we do?”

“I’ll find out what’s going on with Owen,” Barbara said. “Wait for me to get back to you.”
