Chapter 281 Threats Flying

Chapter 281 Threats Flying

Bria had never suffered this kind of humiliation. She pulled out her phone, ready to make a call.

Kaleb reached out with his long arm and snatched Bria’s phone away.

He moved fast. Bria lunged to grab it back, but Kaleb lifted the phone high over his head.

Bria jumped, but still couldn’t reach it. She stared at him coldly.

Kaleb looked down at her. “Listen carefully. My name’s Kaleb Keaton. Ayla is my sister. If I ever see you harassing her again…”

He sneered. “I’m not a gentleman. I hit women too.”

Kaleb’s mouth was vicious enough that even Ayla sometimes couldn’t stand it, let alone Bria.

Everyone around Bria was used to flattering her. Hearing this for the first time made her see red. She lowered her voice and threatened him, “If you dare touch me, I’ll have you sitting in a police station for a few days.”

Kaleb laughed coldly. “Go ahead.”

Bria clenched her fists. Kaleb’s careless attitude only fueled her rage. She suddenly yanked Ayla’s arm and unloaded on her. “No wonder you were married to Troy for years and never brought your family around. Turns out your family’s just embarrassing! Bringing them out would make you a joke!”

She sneered with utter contempt. “Ayla, now that you’re divorced and dragging along a dead-weight little brother, don’t even talk about men better than my brother-regular guys won’t even look your way!”

This was the first time Kaleb faced a Winston. His face turned icy, like he was ready to bite. He asked Ayla, “Is this what your life was like over there? How did you put up with it for three years?”

“Well, because she’s dumb!” Bria snapped back. “Troy is so outstanding. She married into our family and won’t treat us like royalty. Who would put up with her?”

Bria was spewing nonsense in a rage, never caring how cruel her words sounded.

Kaleb didn’t hit women. He only talked big. But in this moment, he really wanted to teach Bria a hard lesson.

After she finished ranting and saw Kaleb still hadn’t moved, she grew even more smug. “Hah. Turns out you’re just like your sister, all bark and no bite. I thought you’d really hit me!”

She provoked him openly. “Come on. Hit me. If you’ve got the guts, slap my face. You hit me a few times, and I’ll have my bodyguards kick you a few times. I’m not scared of you!”

Renee wasn’t surprised at all. This was how Bria always acted outside.

Her bodyguards were former special forces. Ordinary fighters without systematic training couldn’t compete at all.

Anyone who crossed her would be crushed by brute force, plus the pressure of Bria’s background. Most people were terrified.

Kaleb narrowed his eyes, his gaze icy. He let out a short laugh. “You think you’re so tough?”

“Of course!” Bria shot back arrogantly.

“Are you afraid of pain? How many slaps do you think you can take?” Kaleb’s gaze was aggressive, clearly calculating the trade-off. It was obviously worth it. “You’ve never tasted real hurt before, have you?”

Bria’s eyes widened. Kaleb actually dared to threaten her back.

The slap Ayla had given her still made her tremble with anger when she thought about it. Her bodyguards were outside. If Kaleb really hit her, it’d be her face that paid.

Even if she could get revenge later, she’d already have taken the loss.

Kaleb rolled his wrist, eager to try. “One for one. What do you say?’

Bria was stunned with anger. Her face went cold, but she instinctively took a step back.

Seeing that, Kaleb looked at her with disdain. She can’t even handle a scare.

He turned to Ayla. “You leaving or not?”

Bria grabbed Ayla’s hand and shouted fiercely, “You’re not going anywhere!”

She was seriously relentless.

Ayla said to Kaleb, “Go wait in the car.”

“Sure.” Kaleb gave Bria a dismissive look. He didn’t see her as any threat and turned away. Then he added to Ayla, “Don’t make her cry. Otherwise, she’ll call her bodyguards to beat you, and I’ll get pounded too.”

Bria’s eyes bulged.

The sarcasm cut deep. He was basically calling her a coward. She completely lost it. “What did you say? Say that again-”

Kaleb thought, Why should I? Every Winston is trash anyway. It’s a waste of breath. He ignored her completely and walked off.

Bria’s face flushed red with rage. I’ve known Ayla for three years. Ayla taking my abuse and snapping back sometimes is one thing.
