Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 741

"Fabiola," Ayla replied, guessing he already knew. "She's my half-sister from my father's side."

Draven frowned slightly. "How is your relationship with her?"

Ayla remembered how overly enthusiastic Fabiola had been. "So far, it's alright."

He stayed alert toward anyone who appeared around Ayla, but he trusted that as long as he was there, she would stay safe. "Are you coming with me now?"

Ayla had already made a promise to Fabiola. "I'm heading to the airport soon."

Draven's gaze darkened. "Leaving so quickly?"

She nodded. "That was always the plan. I came to handle something, and now it's done." The unwillingness in his eyes burned so strongly that her heart thumped hard. "What are you doing?"

Draven grabbed her hand. "Though I'll bring the kids to you after I finish things in Trensea, I'll still miss you the moment you leave. I won't be able to stop myself. I'll want to keep watching you all the time. Only then will I feel at ease."

Ayla felt warmth spreading from his fingers. Over the past few days, she noticed the biggest difference between now and before. Draven had learned to express his feelings.

Back when they were together for eight months, work often kept them apart. Each time she left, he never showed this kind of reluctance.

But now, every moment, Ayla could clearly feel how much Draven needed her and how reluctant he was to let her go. Being cared for so openly felt completely different from before, when she always had to guess what he was thinking.

Under his warm gaze, Ayla almost couldn't take it.

"Ayla, are you two finished yet?" Fabiola suddenly leaned halfway out of the car.

Her eyes first noticed their joined hands. Something flashed briefly in her gaze. Then she looked at Draven, and open dislike crossed her face before she quickly turned polite. "Hello, Mr. Storm. I'm Ayla's sister. I'm taking her back to Trensea, so you can relax and leave her with me. Honestly, with you around, she's in even more danger."

Her sarcasm and dislike were obvious. What she meant was clear. Draven hadn't protected Ayla properly. Troy kept bothering her, and Draven hadn't fully handled Melody either.

Draven froze. Fabiola was younger than him, yet it was the first time someone from Ayla's family openly looked down on him like that. Shock flashed across his face for a moment, followed by guilt and shame.

Ayla was stunned as well.

Fabiola gave the bodyguard a signal.

Ayla glanced at the scenery by the road, then looked back at Draven. His looks and presence were both outstanding. He stood tall like a mountain, with deep eyes and a heavy gaze that pressed on people without saying a word. Yet no matter when, her eyes always returned to him.

After thinking for a moment, Ayla said, "Draven, I know what you want."

Their eyes met.

"A lot has happened lately. I don't want to start a serious relationship right now, and I don't have the strength for it either. So I can't give you an answer yet.

"So, I can't promise you anything right now. But if you're willing to stay by my side like this, then when I'm ready, or if I change my mind, I'll give you an answer."

What Ayla meant was simple. She wanted Draven to stop overthinking and stop hurting himself by fearing he might lose her. Only after saying it did she realize how weak her defenses were when it came to him. In just four days, she had already softened. More than that, she was even willing to raise the children together with him.

If choosing a boyfriend came with strict requirements, Draven would probably qualify without even needing an interview.

When Ayla finished speaking, the warmth in Draven's eyes deepened immediately, though his calm outer appearance stayed the same. Inside, his heart burned strongly. "Thank you, Ayla."

Ayla understood what he meant. He was thanking her for giving him another chance. But deep down, she also felt grateful that he hadn't truly walked away from her after their breakup.
