Divorced CEO's Forgotten Wife Strikes Back (Riley and Bryce) novel Chapter 50

**TITLE: Dreams Refuse Gravity by Leo Arden Knox**
**Chapter 50: Care to Try It?**
**Lucky Draw**

“The shooting range?” Riley echoed, her surprise evident in her tone. She hadn’t expected that invitation at all.

“Yes, indeed. I’m free right now if you’re up for it. But if it’s not a good time for you, I completely understand,” Sebastian replied, his voice smooth yet casual.

“No, no, I’m available. I’ll be there in no time,” Riley responded, her eagerness bubbling to the surface. The prospect of returning the clothes felt like a necessary step toward severing ties and moving on.

“Great! I’ll send you the address shortly,” Sebastian confirmed, his tone suggesting a hint of excitement.

After saying a quick goodbye to Lara, Riley made her way to the shooting range, her heart beating a little faster than usual.

This particular shooting range was exclusive, a high-end facility that catered only to a select group of members. It wasn’t a place one could just stroll into without an invitation.

As she approached the entrance, she spotted Felix, Sebastian’s secretary, waiting just outside.

The moment he caught sight of her, he stepped forward with a professional demeanor.

“Ms. Anderson, Mr. Torres sent me to escort you inside,” he said, his voice respectful and formal.

“Thank you,” Riley replied, offering a polite smile.

“Not a problem at all,” Felix responded, his tone revealing a level of admiration.

Riley noted the way he treated her with such respect; it was clear that she held a special status in Sebastian’s world.

In all the time Felix had worked for Sebastian, he had never seen his boss show this kind of interest in any woman, regardless of their social standing.

And it didn’t seem to matter to Sebastian that Riley was married; to him, that was just a detail.

If he wanted someone, marital status was irrelevant. He would pursue her without hesitation, much like a king claiming his queen from a distant realm.

“Ms. Anderson, this way, please,” Felix instructed, gesturing for her to follow him.

As they entered the shooting range, the atmosphere was electrifying. The sharp, rhythmic sound of gunfire echoed around them, each bang slicing through the air like a knife.

Riley felt oddly at home amidst the cacophony; the sound of gunshots was as familiar to her as the ticking of a clock.

Her time in the military camp had conditioned her to embrace the chaos of shooting drills, making her feel alive and alert.

And then, she spotted him.

Sebastian stood tall, clad in a sleek black outfit that exuded confidence. He wore earmuffs, his focus unwavering as he aimed at the target with a gun firmly gripped in his hand.

Bang. Bang. Bang.

Each shot rang out in succession, smooth and deliberate, a testament to his skill.

His stance was unyielding, a picture of poise and precision.

It was clear he was no novice; he was a marksman, a true professional.

The target lit up with a series of impressive hits, each one a testament to his expertise.

After completing his round, Sebastian set the gun down, removed his earmuffs, and turned his gaze toward Riley.

“We meet again, Ms. Anderson,” he said, a hint of amusement in his voice.

“You’re the one who summoned me here, remember?” Riley replied, her lips pressing together in a thin line.

“True enough,” Sebastian shrugged, a playful sigh escaping him. “I had to think long and hard for a reason to see you.”

Riley felt her breath catch in her throat. The way he phrased it felt charged, almost like a confession wrapped in flirtation.

But she quickly dismissed the thought; it was just another game for someone like him, someone who thrived at the top of the social ladder.

She recalled the dangerous energy he exuded when they first crossed paths, a reminder of the risk that came with being near him.

If anyone knew better, it was Riley:

Staying away from Sebastian was the wisest choice she could make.

“Here are the clothes, Mr. Torres,” Riley said, retrieving the neatly folded garments from her bag.

Sebastian barely glanced at them before Felix stepped forward to take them from her.
