If it weren’t for Quinn, I’d be the one getting engaged to Peyton today. That woman has stolen everything that rightfully belonged to me.
I have to find a way to take it all back.
”
She’d expected the engagement ceremony to be a chaotic mess, but so far, everything was going surprisingly smoothly.
She’d shown up to make everyone see how miserable she was—and who was to blame for it. And she’d also come to watch the show. She’d thought the Hart family would kick up a huge fuss, but they were eerily calm.
If that’s how it’s going to be, I’ll have to stir up trouble myself.
She’d already dug up all the information she could on Quinn’s ex-boyfriend. She pulled out her phone and sent him a video clip-short, but enough to get him here..
Half an hour later.
The engagement ceremony was about to start. The emcee was already on stage, ready to introduce the couple.
“Distinguished guests, good morning, and welcome…”
“Quinn!” Just as everyone’s eyes turned to the stage, a man suddenly appeared, shouting her name at the top of his lungs.
Quinn froze, her gaze locking onto his face. She never thought he’d show up today.
Why’s Felix here?
It had been ages since he’d last stepped into her life. She’d thought he’d finally given up, that he’d stop hounding her for good. She never imagined he’d pull something like this-a grand, dramatic interruption.
“Quinn, we promised each other we’d get married!” Felix yelled, pushing his way through the crowd. He put on a fake, heartfelt expression as he confronted her. “I begged you to forgive me for months, and you refused. How could you get engaged to someone else? And it’s Peyton of all people!
“Do you even know who he is? You’re just throwing yourself at him like this. He can’t make you happy. You two are completely incompatible. I don’t approve of this marriage!”
Quinn let out a bitter laugh. “Who do you think you are, Felix? Do I need your permission to get engaged?”
“Quinn, I gave you time. I thought you were just throwing a tantrum, that you’d come back to me eventually,” Felix ranted, his voice rising. “I never thought you’d actually go through with this. Do you have any idea how I’ve been suffering these past few months?

“I never agreed to break up with you! And I sure as hell never thought you’d get engaged to another man. You’re being ridiculous!”
Felix was completely worked up, his eyes wild with desperation. He was dead set on ruining the ceremony and dragging Quinn away with him.
Quinn scoffed, “Felix, you’re out of your mind. I’ll say this one last time: who I marry is none of your business. Even if every other man in the world was gone, I’d never marry you!”
Peyton could see Felix was determined to destroy their engagement. He’d clearly come with bad intentions.
He signaled to his security team, his voice cold and authoritative. “Get him out of here. Take him as far away as possible. He seems mentally unstable. Escort him to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation!”
“Yes, Mr. Reed!” The security guards moved quickly, stepping in to restrain Felix and drag him away from the venue.
“Look at all these people watching!” Felix screamed, struggling against the guards. “Don’t you dare touch me! Why are you throwing me out? I’m just here to find my fiancée!”
“Quinn, I’m giving you one last chance!” he shouted, his voice cracking. “Come with me now, and I’ll pretend this never happened. But if you stay here today, I’ll never let you get away with this!”
He was completely delirious, caring about nothing but getting his way. Both the Hart and Reed families valued their reputations. They’d never let him make a scene like this.
The crowd erupted into murmurs again. Many had heard rumors about Quinn’s messy breakup with her ex-boyfriend, but they’d never imagined she’d get engaged so soon, let alone that her ex would crash the ceremony and act like they were still together. Everyone had an opinion now, and none of them were kind.
A flicker of satisfaction crossed Wendy’s face. This was exactly what she’d wanted-exactly the chaos she’d hoped to create.
Felix had been spiraling downward for months. His company had been drained dry, forcing him to shut it down for good.
With no business to run, he’d been lounging around at home all day, doing nothing productive. Lila had left him as soon as he lost everything.
Her departure hadn’t bothered him much. He didn’t feel the slightest bit sad. The only woman on his mind was still Quinn.
He’d wanted to reach out to her countless times, but he’d had no idea where she was. He’d been too scared to go to her house, fearing her mother or brother would confront him.
