Chapter 136 Total Chaos

Felix knew deep down that his company’s collapse was all Kieran’s doing. But he didn’t dare confront the Hart family directly.
Ever since Quinn left the company, he’d been out of his depth. He couldn’t handle the work on his own. He’d relied on her to run things all these years.
He’d lost all interest in the business… until he heard about Quinn’s engagement.
Suddenly, Kieran stepped forward and punched Felix square in the face. “How long are you gonna keep this up? Haven’t you done enough damage to my sister over the years? Today’s her engagement party, and you still have the nerve to show up and cause trouble..What the hell is wrong with you?”
“You showed up voluntarily-don’t expect to walk out of here unscathed,” he snarled.
Kieran had endured Felix’s nonsense long enough. He’d wanted to punch the guy for ages, and now Felix had walked right into it.
Does he really think he can change anything with this dramatic stunt?
“Go ahead, hit me. I know your whole family hates me,” Felix said, showing no fear. He knew he’d done unforgivable things to Quinn in the past.
He hated the man he’d become. He regretted everything—most of all, letting Quinn slip away.
They’d broken up, and she was already engaged. He knew he probably didn’t stand a chance… but he had to try one last time.
“Quinn, we had years together. Can you really just forget all that?” Felix pleaded, his voice cracking. “We loved each other. I know you still do. How could you get so heartbroken over our breakup that you’d rush into marriage with someone else?
“Is that fair to me? Is that fair to him?” He put on a devastated act, his eyes filled with resentment. All eyes were on them now, like they were watching a cheap spectacle.
The engagement had already been embarrassing enough. Now Felix’s outburst had completely ruined the reputations of both the Hart and Reed families.
“Kieran, don’t waste your energy hitting this scumbag. It’s not worth getting your hands dirty,” Quinn said sharply. “Felix, I’ve made myself crystal clear. There’s no future for us, and I said everything I needed to say when we broke up.
“Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to today. But save your breath. We’re never getting back together. I’m single, and I can be with whoever I want. Who I choose to engage with is none of your business.
“Get this lunatic out of here-now! The farther, the better!”
Quinn had reached her breaking point.
But the most agitated person there was Iris. She watched as the crowd whispered and gossiped about her family, as all the unresolved messes from both sides exploded into chaos.

Iris had been the head of the family for decades-proud, strong-willed, and used to being in control. She couldn’t stand the idea of people talking badly about her family, of their names being dragged through the mud.
“What… what have you done to this engagement?” she gasped, her voice trembling. “What are all these people doing here? Get them out! Now!”
Her body couldn’t handle the stress. Looking at the chaotic scene unfolding before her, she felt like the whole thing was a disaster.
How could this have happened?
“Iris, please don’t get upset,” Donna said, rushing over to her. She feigned concern, but her tone was laced with malice. “But isn’t Peyton going too far? We trusted him so much! Why didn’t he sort out all these issues before the engagement? How did he let these shady people get in?
“What is Quinn playing at? Could it be she’s still stringing that man along? That’s why he showed up here making a scene! The Reed family has never been so humiliated!”
Donna was secretly overjoyed by the chaos. She’d rushed to Iris’ side, pretending to comfort her while stirring up more trouble with her words.
“Enough! That’s enough!” Harold snapped, cutting her off. He couldn’t stand to watch her exploit the situation any longer. No matter what had happened in the past, Iris was still his mother.
He couldn’t be so cruel, especially now. The priority was getting Iris home to calm down.
“Let’s take Mom back first,” he said, his voice steady and rational. “There’s no point in staying here now that things have gotten this bad.”
Harold kept a clear head. With so many people watching, they couldn’t keep standing there being laughed at. He was a member of the Reed family, and he had to protect their dignity.
