Diana stumbled over her words, panic creeping in. She prayed Quinn was lying.
Just then. Lila got out of a taxi and rushed over.

“Mrs. Cole!” she called, hurrying to Diana’s side. “I woke up this morning and you were gone. I knew you’d be here. Please don’t fight with Quinn. You just got out of the hospital. We’re all worried about you.”
“Felix said he’ll fix everything,” Lila added gently, supporting Diana. “He and Quinn are just having a fight. Don’t get so upset over it.”
She put on a sweet, sensible act, exactly the kind of behavior that won people over.
Quinn watched them, her face cold and expressionless.
This morning?
Are they living together now? They moved fast.
Quinn almost laughed. It was ridiculous.
“Lila, stay out of this,” Diana snapped. “I’d die before I let her get away with this. I treated her like family, and she left us with nothing. Did she even care about what we had?”
Diana’s voice shook with anger.
It was true. She’d been kind to Quinn. So Quinn had let her get away with storming the company multiple
times.
But now Diana had gone too far. Quinn couldn’t tolerate it anymore.
This was between her and Felix. She didn’t want anyone else meddling, but here they were, sticking their noses in.
“Quinn, you know Mrs. Cole just left the hospital,” Lila said, her tone earnest. “Why are you fighting with her? She’s not young, and she’s always been good to you, Can’t you cut her some slack?”
“If I upset you before, that’s my fault,” she continued. “Take it out on me. If you make Mrs. Cole sick again, Felix will never forgive you. Your relationship will be over for good.”
Lila sounded like she was trying to help, but her eyes betrayed her true intentions.
“Our relationship ended a long time ago,” Quinn said flatly. “We’ll never go back. And she came to me today. I didn’t seek any of you out.”
“From now on, we leave each other alone,” she added. “No more meddling, no more fights.”
Quinn was tired of dealing with them. She just wanted to stay far away.
But they kept coming for her, and it was getting old.
“Quinn, this has nothing to do with Mrs. Cole,” Lila pleaded. “Even if you’re enemies now, she was good to

you. Please, let her go.”

Deep down, Lila hoped they’d fight harder. She wanted Diana back in the hospital. Then Felix would hate Quinn forever.
“Lila, save your breath.” Diana said sharply. “I’m here for compensation. She needs to pay back every penny we lost from those canceled contracts. Otherwise, I’m not leaving.”
Diana finally said what she’d come for. She was determined to make Quinn pay–one way or another.
Quinn scoffed.
“Your son did this to himself. No one else is to blame,” she said. “I’m not giving you a cent. If you want to throw a fit here. go ahead. I’ve wrapped up all my work. The company doesn’t need me anymore.”
With Kieran’s help. Quinn had tied up all loose ends in the past two days.
She never had to step foot in Cole Group again. Diana could scream and shout all she wanted–it didn’t affect her.
Diana’s face turned bright red with rage. “Then I’ll go to your house! If I can’t have peace, neither will you!”
Quinn smiled faintly.
Does Diana really think threats will work?
“Suit yourself,” she said, turning to leave.
Diana stepped in front of her, blocking the way. “You shameless witch! Pay us back, or you’re not going anywhere!”
Suddenly, Diana clutched her chest, her face twisting in pain. She looked terrible.
“Mrs. Cole! What’s wrong?” Lila cried. “Is your heart acting up again?”
“Quinn, that’s enough!” she shouted at Quinn. “You know she’s in poor health. Do you really want to make
her sick?”
Finally, Lila had an excuse to fight back. No more pretending to be nice.
“I tried to stay away,” Quinn shot back. “You’re the ones who won’t leave me alone!”
Once, she would have panicked. She would have felt guilty.
But not anymore. These people didn’t deserve her sympathy.
Quinn walked away without looking back. There was nothing here worth holding onto.
