Diana raised her hand and swung.

Quinn reacted fast. She dodged the slap and grabbed Diana’s wrist tightly.

“Don’t act like a madwoman in public,” Quinn snapped. “Your son’s company might be falling apart, but you’re still the CEO’s mother. Act like it.”

She didn’t need to guess why Diana was here. Lila must have spun some story to turn her against her.

Quinn was used to it by now.

“You shameless witch!” Diana screamed. “You’ve gone too far! My son treated you like gold, and you betrayed him. You’re despicable!”

“Do you know how much damage you’ve done to him?” she continued, her voice shrill. “And Lila’s degree— you ruined that too! How could you be so cruel?”

Diana had been furious since hearing the news yesterday. She’d tried to find Quinn then, but failed. So she’d waited outside the company bright and early.
