Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1301

Was there any way to get him out of her head?!

Just then, her phone rang.

It was Richard from Subterra Vanguard.

"Luella, I've officially touched down in Eclara City. Aren't you coming out to roll out the red carpet for me?"

"Huh?"

She scratched her messy hair. "Where are you right now?"

Richard was ranked fourth in Subterra Vanguard. Though relatively young, he held significant authority.

He served as a mentor of sorts to both her and Juniper.

"X Club," he shouted over the line. "I just called Juniper, but her man answered the phone."

"I merely said, 'Juniper, remember me?' and that old fox hung up on me!"

Bringing this up made him so furious he nearly smashed his phone. "Oh, and he actually blocked my number, too."

No replies on the messaging app, and his calls couldn't go through.

Left with no other options, he had to contact Luella.

"I'm heading over now." Luella dragged herself out of bed and rushed through her morning routine. "But you have to drink with me."

"Deal."

It was rare for Richard to get out, so he naturally wanted to have a good time. "Come on over. I'll drink you under the table."

"Wait for me."

Hanging up, she threw on some clothes and drove the red sports car Jimmie had given her straight to the club.

Who cared about men anyway?

Life was too short—she just wanted to be happy!

Time to have some fun!

——

At X Club.

Upon arriving, Luella found Richard in a corner booth.

"Richard!"

She shouted at the top of her lungs when she spotted him.

"Keep it down!"

He yanked her over, looking displeased. "Michael sent me out here on official business. If he finds out I'm slacking off, he'll break my legs."

"Alright, alright."

Luella took a seat, grabbed a drink from the table, and downed it.

Before long, she had already polished off two bottles.

Richard stared in disbelief. "Are you trying to get alcohol poisoning?"

"I've got plenty of life left in me."
