"Protecting your sister is our common goal," Jimmie stated.

"Exactly." Jared nodded in strong agreement, looking up at Jimmie as he asked cautiously, "But you won't bully her, right?"

"Deal." Jared nodded, answering with utmost seriousness. "Don't worry, I won't go easy on you just because I ate your fried chicken. If you dare bully my sister, I'll beat you to a pulp."

"Deal." Jimmie stood up, grabbed the takeout boxes, and tilted his head. "Let's go back and check on her."

Jared hopped off his chair, his little legs working hard to keep up. "Jimmie, you have to treat her right from now on, you hear me?"
