Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1417

She had absolutely no intention of letting Shanley see such an embarrassing past.

"Fine."

Seeing her puff up her cheeks in annoyance, he wisely dropped the subject.

Once they got home.

The girl dozed off for an afternoon nap. Only then did Shanley slip out into the living room and dial Flint. "Did you find Professor Michelle's contact info?"

"Yes, Boss," Flint replied. "I've already sent it over to you."

He immediately dialed the number and explained his intentions.

"Her fiancé?"

Upon hearing those words, Michelle hung up the phone without a second of hesitation.

Shanley: "???"

What just happened?

Assuming it was a bad connection, he dialed her number again.

"Are you truly my dear Nocturne's fiancé?" she demanded, sounding utterly incredulous.

"I am."

Silence hung over the line for one, two, three seconds...

"Video call."

Michelle seemingly couldn't accept reality, her voice pitching up a notch. "I need to see if you're lying to me, you little punk."

How could the precious girl she held so close to her heart be getting married?

Oh, heavens.

There wasn't a single man in the world good enough for her.

Exactly.

Not. A. Single. One!

"Hello, Professor Michelle. Please allow me to introduce myself, I am—"

"I am not fine." Wearing her reading glasses, Michelle practically pressed her entire face against the camera lens. She stared dead at the man on the screen, interrogating him in English, "You're her fiancé?"

"Yes, ma'am," he answered respectfully.

"Tsk."

She let out a cold snort, muttering under her breath, "Well, he certainly is handsome. No wonder that girl took a liking to you."

"Listen here, boy. How do you treat her? Are you good to her?"

"I wouldn't dare treat her poorly," he chuckled softly, glancing back at the closed bedroom door before quietly tattling on her. "You know how fierce she is when she fights. We've sparred before, and I couldn't beat her."

Michelle covered her mouth, giggling. "I filmed that one in secret. You have to promise me you won't let her see it."

If that little spitfire found out, Michelle would never hear the end of it.

"Make sure you send me an invitation to the wedding. I'll be there in person, even if I have to travel to the ends of the earth."

"I definitely will."

Not long after they hung up, the videos came through.

He couldn't wait to open them.

Michelle had even thoughtfully labeled every single one:

[Drunk Baby Nocturne]

[Sleep-talking Baby Nocturne]

[Hiccuping Baby Nocturne]

[Baby Nocturne Kissing a Pretty Boy]

[...]

His finger scrolled down the screen, and the moment his brain registered that last one, he frantically swiped back up.

Kissing a what?!
