Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1428

Fiancée?

This time it was a true, internet-wide official announcement!

"This is a public area, and there are many travelers coming through. Let's disperse."

Leaving those words behind, Jimmie held Jared in one arm and pulled Luella along with his other hand.

Under the watchful eyes of the media and the crowd, they casually swaggered out of the airport.

Their relationship was finally brought completely into the light.

They were...

Open, honest, and completely unapologetic.

Back in the car.

Luella sat in her seat, staring at the man beside her, her brain still completely fried.

"What's wrong?" Jimmie took off his jacket and draped it over her.

"You suddenly quit acting. Do you think your fans are going to just accept that?"

Luella snapped back to reality, grabbing her phone to check the internet's reaction.

"It wasn't sudden."

Jimmie stared at her intensely, his eyes brimming with absolute adoration. "I've been thinking about what to say for a long time. I was planning on holding a press conference to formally announce it once I got back."

He just hadn't expected her to get cornered by reporters at the airport.

Regardless, the process didn't matter as long as the outcome was what he wanted.

Now the whole world knew Luella was his fiancée.

"Luella, I won't ever let you suffer any grievances."

Luella's eyes turned red with emotion, and she snuggled into his embrace.

Back at the villa.

Cindy tactfully took Jared out to play in the neighborhood, leaving only Luella and Jimmie alone in the house.

"Are you hungry?"

Luella set down her jacket and turned toward the kitchen. "Jared made some cake. Do you want to try a piece?"

Jimmie suddenly stood up and dropped to one knee right in front of her. He stared at her with deep, boundless affection, his tone incredibly serious. "Ms. Langley, will you marry me? Through sickness and health, through poverty and wealth, are you willing to be with me forever?"

"Are you proposing?" Luella blinked.

"Isn't it obvious?"

Jimmie's Adam's apple bobbed, his voice growing huskier. "I know it's a bit sudden, and it's not grand enough, but I just can't wait any longer."

"My money, myself, from this day forward, is entirely at your disposal." Jimmie held her hand, his tone impossibly gentle. "Luella, marry me."

"Then can Juniper be my bridesmaid?" Luella pressed.

"Yes."

"Then can Juniper design my wedding ring and my dress?"

Jimmie pursed his lips, slowly grinding out a single word: "Yes."

"Can Juniper and I—"

"Ms. Langley." Jimmie finally couldn't hold back, interrupting her to emphasize, "The person you are marrying is me, not Juniper."
