Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1539

If they really got down to brass tacks, Shanley technically owed him the respect of calling him "Godfather."

If the Sherwin family could actually secure a connection like this, they would be utterly untouchable in Eclara City.

"That makes sense."

Shanley rested his arm on the back of the sofa, his fingers lightly tapping the armrest, his magnetic voice low. "Such a trivial matter... I used to be able to make that call."

"Used to?"

Malcolm's lips twitched, completely lost.

So...was Shanley going to help or not?

"Yes."

Juniper finished her drink, and Shanley slowly took the cup back, turning it in his hands. He raised an eyebrow with a smile. "Before I was engaged, I called all the shots. But now that I'm marrying Juniper, I'm no longer the one in charge of the household."

"Huh?"

Malcolm was utterly bewildered, letting out a noise of pure disbelief.

Juniper actually dared to control the great Mr. Schwartz?

"That's right." Shanley nodded, speaking with proud confidence. "I'm totally whipped. Whether or not we help the Sherwins is entirely up to Juniper."

*Pfft—*

Flint couldn't hold it back and let out another laugh.

Whipped?

And the boss sounded so proud of it, too.

"Got a lot of free time?"

Shanley's smile vanished. He shot Flint an icy look and ordered flatly, "Go run ten laps outside."

"Yes, Boss." Flint instantly stopped laughing, his face falling as he headed downstairs.

Felton pinched himself hard, using the pain to stay perfectly composed.

"Mr. Schwartz, you..."

"Of course."

Juniper pursed her lips, her expression aloof and detached. "Though it's not stealing. It's simply taking back what belongs to me."

"What belongs to you?"

Realizing she was out for blood, Malcolm couldn't keep up his act any longer. His face twisted into an ugly snarl. "Sherwin Group belongs to the Sherwins. The old man only had one son, making me the rightful heir."

"You're just an outsider with no blood relation! What gives you the right to snatch the company away?"

"You'll find out soon enough whether I have the right or not."

Juniper stuffed her hands in her pockets, an expression of pure disgust on her face as she strode forward.

Unease knotted in Malcolm's stomach. Surely Juniper didn't know about the will?

But he quickly dismissed the thought. If she knew, she would have caused an uproar the moment she was thrown out of the house. Who wouldn't want Money?

He'd just have to see what kind of stunt Juniper was trying to pull!
