Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1780

Tap. Tap. Tap.

At the sound of the footsteps, everyone in the hall looked up in unison.

Juniper walked down the stairs in a white, sleeveless mid-length dress that perfectly accentuated her slender waist.

The hem stopped just above her knees, revealing her perfectly proportioned, luminous legs.

Her long hair draped casually over her shoulders, and under the lights, her complexion seemed to practically glow.

Looking closer...

She had a bag of chocolate-flavored fries in her hand, her expression completely relaxed and languid.

Trailing right behind her was her husband, Shanley. He had her coat draped over his left arm and was holding her water glass in his right hand.

The couple's presence was overwhelming. Just standing there, they felt like two towering, immovable mountains.

Their intimidating aura was so heavy it made it hard to breathe.

Looking at her.

Amos's grip on his cane tightened, his brow furrowing deeply.

Mr. and Mrs. Ainsworth exchanged a nervous glance, feeling a sudden, inexplicable rush of panic.

"Grandmother, you called for me." Juniper handed the half-eaten bag of chips to Shanley, walked over, and affectionately linked her arm through Hannah's.

"I did. Someone wanted to speak with you personally." Hannah patted Juniper's hand, smiling warmly. "Have a seat, sweetie."

"Okay."

Juniper nodded. She glanced down and saw that Kent was sitting right next to Hannah.

There were no empty seats left.

She was just about to head toward the adjacent sofa when Hannah suddenly kicked Kent in the leg. "Move over. Have some situational awareness."

"Oh."

Kent immediately stood up, scurried over to the side, and sat down right next to Shanley, the two of them staring blankly at each other.

The Ainsworth family: "???"

What on earth was going on?

It was one thing for Hannah to take the head seat, but what kind of status did Juniper have?!

She actually had Kent giving up his seat for her?!

The hierarchy in this house was completely upside down!

Mr. Ainsworth stood up, keeping his tone as mild as possible. "Annie was simply momentarily confused and made a terrible mistake. Please, for the sake of the relationship between our families, could you ask Ebony Fox to issue a letter of forgiveness?"

"As for compensation, whatever she asks for, we will do absolutely everything in our power to provide it."

"Yes, yes, exactly."

Mrs. Ainsworth quickly chimed in. "If it's money she wants, just name a price. We'll pay it."

Money?

Hearing this, Juniper suddenly laughed, her voice dripping with careless amusement. "Do you actually think my sister called the cops just to get a payout?"

Mrs. Ainsworth choked on her words. Although she hadn't said it out loud, that was exactly what she believed.

What else could it be?

If it wasn't about money, why would she refuse to just let it go?

The rest of the Schwartz family glanced at Juniper. Even though she was smiling, her eyes were terrifyingly cold.

Shanley and Kent silently sipped their tea, not daring to say a single word.

They were terrified of getting caught in the crossfire.

Hannah patted Juniper's hand again, soothingly. "Don't be mad, sweetie. Some people just speak without using their brains. Try to be understanding."
