Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1781

Mrs. Ainsworth, speaking entirely without thinking, looked bewildered.

"Since the Ainsworth family is being so sincere, I'd hate to make things difficult for you." Juniper's red lips curled up, her lazy voice ringing out. "I'll offer two suggestions. If your family can manage them, I'll advise Ebony Fox to let Annie Ainsworth go."

"Alright, tell us."

Seeing a glimmer of hope, Mr. Ainsworth broke into a bright smile.

So she just wanted money after all. Anything that could be solved with money wasn't a real problem.

"The first condition. Since Mrs. Ainsworth can't stop talking about money, give Ebony Fox twenty billion dollars." Juniper leaned against the sofa, her voice crisp and pleasant.

Hearing that astronomical figure, Amos Ainsworth furrowed his brows tightly, his face turning ashen.

"How much? What did you just say?!"

Mrs. Ainsworth jumped up in shock. Her perfectly made-up face twisted grotesquely due to her exaggerated expression. "Twenty billion? I must have heard that wrong."

While the Ainsworths were indeed a top-tier wealthy family in Eclara City...

Compared to the Schwartz family, they were still far behind.

If she had asked for two billion, they might have actually considered it, gritted their teeth, and paid up.

But this was twenty billion!

That much money could buy the lives of everyone in the Ainsworth family.

"Was I not clear enough?" Juniper sat beside Hannah, her exquisitely flawless face tilted up slightly, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Then I'll repeat it. Twenty billion, to buy your daughter's life."

Amos tightened his grip on his cane, while the Ainsworth couple was too terrified to even speak.

This wasn't just a lion opening its mouth; it was a hippo.

"It seems that compared to money, your daughter's life doesn't mean much at all."

Juniper raised an eyebrow and continued, "If she goes to prison, she'll only be locked up for ten years or so. It won't kill her."

"True. Compared to ten years, the allure of twenty billion is definitely stronger."

"Go back and tell Annie to pack her bags and get ready to learn her lesson on the inside. When she gets out in ten years, she can try being a decent human again."

Juniper held her cup, speaking at a leisurely pace. "No conscience? Who exactly is the one without a conscience here?"

"Enough!"

Having listened for a long time, Amos stood up shakily with his cane, filled with rage. "It seems Ms. Payne has no sincere intention of negotiating."

The Ainsworth family couldn't possibly fulfill either of these conditions.

Juniper sneered, unapologetically retorting, "And you do?"

Either pay the money or give up the hand.

The conditions she offered were more than generous.

"Since you have no sincerity, stop whining in the Schwartz household."

Juniper set down her cup and said coldly, "Show them out."

"Kent!" Amos gasped for air, nearly fainting from anger. "What's your take on this? Has the Schwartz family changed ownership?"
