Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 104

Lillian didn't say a word, but she had a clear view of Bella's provocative smirk.

It wasn't the first time she had seen Bella drop her facade.

It seemed that yesterday's game had truly been a blow to her pride.

Otherwise, she wouldn't be flaunting her victory so arrogantly in front of her so soon.

It was almost laughable. Didn't Bella always consider herself a superior talent?

Didn't she always look down on Lillian with disdain?

And now, she was losing her composure over a single game?

Lillian found it amusing.

However, it wasn't just about the game for Bella.

It was the culmination of one thing after another.

From investigating for the Mercer family and Sebastian to find that Lillian had never spent their money, to seeing the incompetent Lillian effortlessly own her own company and dine in a room Bella couldn't even enter, and then last night, seeing Lillian drive up in a supercar worth over fifty million with Sebastian.

Bella's emotions had been piling up.

She looked down on Lillian for her privileged background and for living a comfortable life off others, yet she kept discovering that Lillian's life was going far too smoothly.

How could she live so well?

It just wasn't right!

Did she even deserve such a good life?

Bella taunted, “What are you looking at me for? You want to hit me? Think back to two years ago. You wanted to hit me then, too. And what happened? You won yourself a two-year prison stay. How about it, want to go back?”

Lillian’s eyes darkened. Her gaze shifted past Bella to the uniformed officers entering behind her.

She raised her hand. “I’m the one who called the police.”

The responding officers walked straight over.

Then, Lillian pointed to the necklace around Bella's neck. “The jewelry I'm missing is this set, and...” She paused, scanning the room until she spotted Sabrina, then pointed. “...that set of jade jewelry. I suspect they are the ones who stole them.”

This move left Bella completely stunned.

Everyone at the reception turned to look.

Before Bella could even offer an explanation, the police spoke up. “Ma'am, please come with us.”

They preferred not to conduct the investigation on the spot.

Bella's eyes shot a venomous glare at Lillian.

She really had gotten smarter than she was two years ago.

Sabrina rushed over, pulling her daughter behind her protectively. “What is going on here?” she asked the police.

Lillian stated calmly, “Together, these two sets of jewelry are worth tens of millions.”

The police officer reiterated, “Ma'am, please come with us.”

Sensing trouble, Martin and Brandon hurried over.
