Fated To Three Betrayed By All Until She Rose (Leilani) by Ahvahh novel Chapter 309

Chapter 309: Never too late with her.

Leilani.

First came silence, a never ending silence. Then came pain.

I knew no other feeling besides pain for so long that I had become so accustomed to it, it became a part of me. And sometimes, a few times where I’d lose hope and wait patiently for my death, the pain would subside only to be replaced with a weird kind of chill.

—That or the annoying sound of one of my mates calling out to me.

For the past couple of —days? Months? Hours? I had no idea of time anymore— I had grown too used to and had become quite dependent on that quiet voice at the back of my head. The one that claims to have always been there but had been too far away for me to hear; So today, when she whispered to me to open my eyes, I didn’t question her.

I didn’t complain about how many times I had tried to do that in the past, I simply did as told and gasped when my eyelids fluttered open to reveal a crisp white ceiling.

A frown formed on my face when I felt my chest burning, but that wasn’t all. My throat was burning too. My body felt like I’d jumped from a three-storey building and the chaos happening all around me made me instinctively begin to question if world war three was already happening.

"Lani?" A soft voice that sounded somewhat shocked yet familiar called to me, and as soon as I turned to the sound, half-expecting it to be Zevran or perhaps even Jarek, I was annoyed to see that it was Caelum instead.

I frowned.

His brows were drawn together in a look of worry and his hands trembled slightly when he pushed them forward carefully to examine my temple, my cheek, my eyes...

"Let go, I can do just fine!" I rasped, swatting his hands off me.

The sound of my voice caused the others in the room to turn to me and my breath hitched when both Zevran and Darius looked over— not like I cared about Darius anyway.

My main focus was on Zevran.

Zevran the man whose voice would always slip through the cracks of my fuzzy mind. Zevran who didn’t leave my side for a moment... Yes, him and Kael.

Where the fuck is Kael?

Just then, I saw him standing to the side, his eyes portraying nothing but horror. His response to me being awake shocked me to no end and I balked, waving my hands dismissively just as Darius drawled;

"Leilani, meet—"

"Miranda. I know who she is," I rasped through gritted teeth, feeling slightly confused, "...however, I don’t understand how or why I know her, but it feels like I’ve met her before."

As soon as I said that, a look of horror appeared on the said Miranda’s face. It rivalled the ones on Zevran’s and Kael’s faces and at the same time, annoyed me so much that I found myself saying;

"What the hell is wrong with all of you?" then glancing at the door, I added; "...and Maya, why are you just standing there? Is something wrong with me?"

For a moment, nobody moved. Nobody said a thing or even gave me something as little as a smile.

I groaned when a strange kind of head-splitting headache tore through my skull, and do you know what was funny?

The fact that no one tried to help.

I frowned again. "What is the matter? Do I look different?"

One minute I was feeling like I was about to die, and the next, I was feeling nothing but peace and thanking the moon goddess for answering my prayers even though it was for the very first time since we’ve ever met.

I however, never got enough of a chance to thank her enough because soon, the pain slammed back into my midriff, a lot harder than it did before.

But I could no longer cry out. I could no longer scream or curse or hate myself for being in this situation. Hell, I could only grit my teeth and hope it ends quickly.

And it did.

One minute, I was on my cell floor begging for death, and the next, I was on a hospital bed, chewing on my bottom lip so badly that it bled while a midwife and a doctor tried all they could to pry the peasant child out of my vagina.

The process was pure agony— I do not recommend— and at the end of the day, guess what?

A child was pulled out of me.

A child as big as Louis. As ugly as Louis too, and I knew at once that even though things had turned out differently and I was still with the triplets as their Luna, I could never have been able to convince them that this baby was theirs, because from first glance, he didn’t look like them.

He didn’t even bear the mark of royalty or smell like an Alpha pup would.

He was a splitting image of his shitty accursed father!

And I already hate him for it.
