Emily quietly scolded, “Listen to me, go to bed, I’ll tell you a story.”

“I don’t want to, I want Charlie to put me to sleep!” Kya was so tired that her eyes could barely open, her words were slurred, but she still clung to Charlie defiantly.

Jonathan and Estelle exchanged a look, a touch of emotion flashing in their eyes.

Kya’s dependence on Charlie was really surprising!

“I’ll put her to bed!” Charlie said softly, then gently picked up Kya and walked towards the bedroom, “I’ll carry you to bed.”

“Okay!” Kya wrapped her arms around Charlie’s neck.

Emily helplessly followed.

When they entered the bedroom, Charlie paused. After all, this wasn’t a hotel room or a private club, but it’s where Emily slept every day.

As soon as he entered, Charlie could smell a faint fragrance, the same as Emily’s.

The bedroom was simply decorated, a bed with a pale yellow daisy-printed sheet on it, curtains and bedding in matching color, a simple wardrobe placed inside, next to it a chest of drawers, on top of which was a blue vase filled with daisies.

A warm yellow table lamp was on at the bedside, simple and plain, yet exuding warmth and elegance.

Charlie moved towards the bed, feeling like he was stepping on cotton candy, even his heart felt light and airy.

He put Kya on the bed, but she still clung to his arm, muttering, “Charlie, come lie down, I want to hear more stories.”

“Kya, you can’t be willful!” Emily scolded.

Having Charlie in her bedroom was already embarrassing enough for her, how could she let Charlie lie on her bed?

Looking at Kya’s sleeping face, Charlie felt an unprecedented peace and comfort. He took a deep breath, relaxed his body on the bed, didn’t want to move at all, just wanted to stay here forever.

Emily had been chatting with Estelle outside for a while when Jonathan suddenly asked Estelle, “Are you tired, want to go back and rest?”

Before Estelle could reply, Emily immediately said, “Don’t go, what should I do if you guys leave?”

Jonathan smiled and said, “Don’t worry, even if Charlie has had a drink, he won’t do anything drastic!” “Don’t go!” Emily frowned, “If you guys leave, leaving just us two, won’t it be really awkward?”

“Once Kya falls asleep, Charlie might leave too!” Estelle turned to Jonathan, “I’m really tired, let’s go back!”

“Estelle!” Emily glared at her, “If you dare to leave, I won’t talk to you anymore!”

Estelle squinted her eyes and laughed, “Don’t worry, if Charlie dares to do anything, I’ll help you teach him a lesson!”
