Norah murmured. “No thanks, Im not really a coffee person.” 

Damian and the others started passing their coffees to Norah. 

“This one’s too sweet, not really my cup of tea” 

Tll have insomnia if I drink this! Here, Norah 

Im not a fan either.” 

Soon, Norah found herself with a tower of four or five cups of coffee in front of her 

Luisa watched all of that from the side, a hint of jealousy flickering in her eyes. She could easily see that while the people in the shop treated her as a guest, they considered Norah one of their own 

No biggie, she thought, she’d arrived late. Sooner or later, she’d kick Norah out of the joint 

Xavier handed his cup to Norah without a second thought, saying, “I don’t drink this stuff, you have it.” 

Norah wasn’t exactly thrilled about coffee, but she took Xavier’s cup anyway. 

Luisa humedly offered her cup to Xavier, “Mr. Flemmings, please have mine.” 

“No thanks!” Xavier declined 

Feeling down, Luisa took a seat next to Zachary 

Despite the ample space on Zachary’s right side, Luisa chose to squeeze in on his left side, which was right next to Xavier 

Norah glanced at Luisa but kept her mouth shut 

“What’s the game? I want to play too!” Luisa flashed a cunning smile, “But go easy on me, I’m not very good at it 

“We’re all here just to have fun, it doesn’t matter who wins or loses,” Zachary said with a smile. 

“Tm in then! Luisa leaned forward, waiting for Damian to deal the cards. She turned to Norah, “You joining. Norah?” 

Before Norah could respond, Xavier answered for her, “She won’t.” 

“Norah doesn’t know how to play? Luisa asked softly, “No biggie, I’m not very good either 

Xavier’s face was unreadable as he said, “She’s still a kid!” 

Norah just stood there and couldn’t say anything. 

Luisa’s gaze flickered between the two, her smile unwavering. “Right, Norah’s still in school. It’s not really appropriate for her to gamble.” 

Suddenly, Xavier tossed his chips onto the table, “You guys carry on, fm out” 

“You’ve won quite a bit today!” Damian laughed. “Leaving just like that?” 

“Just like that!” Xavier said nonchalantly. 

Luisa chuckled, “Mr. Flemmings is so generous? No wonder he’s the boss” 

The group laughed and joked around for a bit before continuing their card game 

Norah sat next to Xavier and curiously asked, “Why aren’t you playing anymore?” 

Xavier reached for a cigarette, but remembering there were women present, put it back down. He glanced at Norah, “So that you won’t get jealous.” 

Norah’s heart jumped, she sipped her coffee through a straw, and suddenly, it didn’t taste so bad. 

After a morning of cards and the rain outside getting heavier, there were no customers. It was a perfect time for the gang to hang out 

Luisa volunteered to cook, with Zachary happily helping her out. 

With ready ingredients and Zachary’s assistance, Luisa whipped up eight dishes in no time
