Bennett heaved a big sigh at the bedside, then turned around and left.
Carmella's eyes popped open, filled with resentment and hatred. She gripped the blanket, her fingertips digging so hard into the fabric that it tore and started bleeding. Her blood spread across the white blanket.
She felt as if she had been abruptly pushed from heaven into hell, and the shock nearly tore her heart apart!
She hated that Estelle had once again ruined her future and destroyed everything she had!
Why was she KING? Why?
Carmella thought to herself: "No wonder Jason had so much faith in Estelle back at Snowy Studios! It turned out Jason knew about it, then Albert must have known too. He didn't mention it when he called me that day! If he had told me, I wouldn't have been caught off guard! They just wanted to see me make a fool of myself! Now I've lost everything, totally screwed! And Simone, she knew I fainted but didn't even come up to check on me!"
Carmella was filled with hatred towards Estelle, Albert, Simone, and everyone in this world!
The phone Bennett left behind her buzzed suddenly. She turned around to see it was her agent.
She wanted to hide herself, but she knew she couldn't avoid it. She reached out with trembling hands to answer the phone, choking out, "Hello?"
"Carmella, why aren't you picking up the phone? Do you know how much trouble you've caused me!" The agent's scolding voice came through the phone, and it was no longer friendly.
"Listen, the company is going to cut you loose because your lies have cost us a fortune. They'll sue you and demand you pay damages and penalties. All those endorsements you signed are also canceled, and you'll have to pay the penalty! Plus, people from Beauty's Wardrobe called. You've seriously impacted their program,"
Before the agent could finish, Carmella burst into tears. "What else do you want to punish me with? Are you trying to drive me to death?"
The agent was taken aback, then snapped, "What's that got to do with us? We provided you with opportunities and resources. You brought this on yourself!"

Carmella felt as if she had fallen into an ice cellar. She cried out in agony, then hurled the phone at the wall.
With a crash, the phone shattered to pieces.

It was noon, and the housemaid had prepared lunch. She came to ask Bennett and Simone if they wanted to have lunch.
Simone was still silent, and Bennett had no appetite, so he waved the maid off.
The maid asked cautiously, "Shall I go upstairs and see if Carmella is awake?"
After the maid left, Bennett sat down next to Simone on the couch and murmured, "Even though Carmella's future is ruined, the fact that Estelle is KING is still something to celebrate. After all, she is our biological daughter."
