Xavier was gobsmacked, his heart seemed to skip a beat. It was silent all around, but his mind was a mess, unable to settle down, unable to think.
He looked at the girl's innocent yet determined eyes, frowned deeper, and dumbly began to speak, "Norah, you're still young."
"I don't want to hear it!" Norah cut him off, her gaze even more determined. "You don't need to tell me you don't like me. As long as you're not in love or married, I have the right and freedom to chase you. You can't stop me from liking you, and I can't stop myself."
The car light was dim, and Xavier's gaze was even deeper, perhaps he didn't know how to persuade Norah, so there was an indescribable restlessness in his chest.
"Xavier," Norah called out again.
Xavier turned his head instinctively, just to see Norah suddenly lean in and kiss his cheek, his eyes wide open.
Norah swiftly drew back, the light in her eyes flickering. "I declare, from today on, I will officially chase you. You don't have to do anything; just. Don’t reject me!"
She tried to keep herself calm, but her slightly trembling voice and the flicker in her eyes still revealed her nervousness. After saying that, she didn't dare to look at Xavier's expression, quickly got out of the car, and walked straight to the front door of the villa.
By the time she entered the yard, her heart was still pounding. She touched her face, it was burning hot and probably turned red.
Fortunately, the light in the car was dim, Xavier probably didn't see it.
Norah felt an indescribable joy in her heart, making her glow. She didn't go into the house but stood under a tree, giggling.
She hid behind the shadows of the tree and turned her head to look outside the yard. Seeing Xavier's car still parked there, she couldn't help but wonder, what was Xavier thinking?
Did he resent her intimacy just now, or was he considering what she said?
For a moment, she wanted to go back to the car and figure it out.
Meanwhile, Xavier in the car was indeed a bit lost, the young girl's enthusiasm left him a bit at a loss, but he was very clear: he and Norah were completely impossible.
Why did she have to like him?
She should like young men her age, like Adrian Chambers, who's also handsome and sunny.
The cicadas in the tree were still calling, making people irritated. Xavier glanced towards the yard, then stepped on the gas and drove away.
In the yard, Norah watched Xavier's car drive away, then let out a sigh of relief, feeling a bit pleased, a bit lost, and a bit regretful. Various emotions mixed together, but they made her feel fulfilled, not as empty and uncomfortable as before.
She was very sure that she liked Xavier, and after seeing him on a date with Daisy today, she was even more sure that she wanted to actively pursue him.
Who said that pursuing is a man's privilege? Girls can also pursue the one they like.
She didn't think there was anything wrong with it. Since she was the one who fell in love first and liked him first, she had to bravely pursue him!
Norah stayed outside for a while, until a passing servant discovered her, and then she happily walked towards the house.
It was already late. Cathrine and Janice were chatting in the living room, and when they saw her come back, they asked with a smile, "Why didn't you come back with Henson?"
"I went to see a movie with a friend!" Norah replied and hurriedly went upstairs without saying much.
Once upstairs, Henson's door suddenly opened. He poked his head out, his gaze sweeping over Norah. "Uncle asked me to tell him when you come back. If you don't come back, he's going to call you."
Norah rolled her eyes. "I'm not a child."
"What are you holding?" Henson walked over, saw the popcorn bucket in her arms, and laughed. "Did you really go see a movie? I'm just hungry; give me the popcorn!"
Norah quickly dodged, "There's all kinds of food in the kitchen; go get it yourself!"
"Why won't you give me some popcorn? Why are you so stingy?" Henson crossed his arms, looked at her meaningfully, and chuckled. "Could it be that your boyfriend bought it for you?"
Norah blinked guiltily. "Kids shouldn't ask so many questions, go to bed early!"
After saying that, she quickly walked towards her room.

May we please have updates. Thank you...
Someone needs to send a new picture of Trevor to Oliver and Luke so that they will get their requested reports to Gonzalez asap. If they didn't know, now they know what awaits them if they continue to disrespect and NOT follow orders....
Well, well, well. I love how Gonzalez sent out the warning that he's the CEO and either they will acknowledge him as such or get their due diligence. I'm waiting to see how the Franco family will be walking on eggs and come into a new understanding of Gonzalez taking charge. Thank you so much for the five updates....
Adrian is hoping that he has a chance with Norah and will do everything and anything in his power to keep Norah and Xavier apart....
Thank you for the updates. I hope that Norah will remember Xavier and their relationship before the accident and that they will ever be to....
