Emily felt uneasy throughout the afternoon because of Gavin’s words. But when she went to deliver some documents for Charlie to sign, he maintained a composed expression and didn’t say anything. Emily began to think that maybe she had overthought the situation. 

However, the next day when she came to work, she realized something was amiss. 

The bid managers from several companies crowed the front desk, all demanding to see Charlie. 

The receptionist patiently explained, “I’m sorry, but without a prior appointment, we can’t allow you proceed.” 

The loudest voice came from a deputy general manager who had been seen with Waters the day before, “If we can’t see Mr. James, at lease let us see Mr. Gavin! After all, your company owes us an explanation for this!” 

Mr. Matz and others also expressed their indignation, “That’s right, we’ve invested so much effort and manpower for the James Group’s bidding project. We can’t be toyed like this!” 

“We want to see Mr. Gavin, and we want him to give us an explanation. Otherwise, none of us are leaving today!” 

“The James Group has always been known for fairness. And now, your company has allowed such a situation to arise. Who would dare to cooperate with you in the future?” 

It was peak working hours and the noise caught the attention of many employees from different departments, leading to whispers and discussions. Suddenly, Mr. Matz spotted Emily and immediately pointed at her, “Isn’t she the one in the photos?” 

“Yes, that’s her!” 

In an instant, they started crowding Emily to voice their accusations. 

“Ms. Sullivan, how could you be so greedy?” 

“No wonder Mr. Walton from Horizon Enterprises seemed so confident. He must have colluded with Ms. Sullivan in advance!” 

“Ms. Sullivan, all of us have been working day and night for over a month for the bid. What do you have to say for yourself?” 

Emily was surrounded by the angry crowd, their accusations filled with fury, pushing her back. She was completely bewildered and asked, “I’m sorry, but can someone tell me what’s going on?” 

The deputy general manager from Starlight Corporation sneered, “You’re still playing dumb at this point?” 

They continued, “We thought Ms. Sullivan was a decent person during our previous communications. We never expected you to be like this!” “You’re a disgrace to the James Group!” 

Mr. Matz from the Iriver Group pulled out his phone, and showed the photos to Emily. “Is this you?” 

Emily took the phone, looked at the photo, and her mind went blank as her face turned pale. 

There were more than ten photos. Some shown her and Wilson having dinner together, some displayed bank transaction records of Wilson, transferring three hundred thousand dollars to her, and some were screenshots of the anonymous email Horizon Enterprises received revealing the James Group’s bidding details. And there even photos taken outside her apartment, showing someone delivering luxury goods to Ms. Simmons. 

All the photos pointed to one thing: she had accepted a bribe from Horizon Enterprises and leaked the bidding details to them. Looking at these photos, Emily’s mind was in chaos, unable to think clearly. 

Mr. Matz snatched the phone back from Emily, demanded furiously, “Ms. Sullivan, do you have any explanation for this?” 

Someone pushed Emily, causing her to stumble backwards, and nearly fall 

Gavins assistant rushed over and shielded Emily, and addressed those representatives, “Mr. Gavin is on his way Please go to the meeting room on the nineteenth floor and wait. When Mr. Gavin is finishing up, he will meet you and provide you with a satisfactory explanation” 

The deputy general manager from Starlight Corporation glared at Emily and asked, “You’re not going to protecting her, are you?” 

The assistant replied coldly. The matter is still under investigation Please be patient!” 

After that, he turned to Emily and said, “Ms Sullivan, please head upstairs. I’ll handle things here” 

“Thank you Emily responded
