Xavier let his hand fall, but the warmth from Norah’s touch continued to spread through his fingertips, and he intentionally kept a stern expression on his face, “Had enough fun yet? Go home now. Don’t make your parents worry” 

Norah’s smile faded, her face turning somber, “I haven’t seen you for days, and just when I can spend a little time with you, you tell me to leave!”

Xavier wanted to say something, but the words got stuck in his throat 

‘Canl spend Thanksgiving with you?” Norah asked cautiously, “We could have a drink and watch the starry sky tonight!” 

“No!” Xavier responded resolutely, “You should get back home now!” 

The hopeful expression on Norah’s face quickly turned into disappointment, “Well, I’m leaving then. But can you at least reply to my goodnight message? I can’t sleep if you don’t

Yvonne’s mother, Mya, stood up with a warm smile, “Is it hot outside?” 

She then turned to the servant, instructing. “Addy, bring some iced honey lemonade!” 

“No need, I don’t like sweet things.” Xavier responded coldly. 

“Yes, yes. You’ve never liked sweets since you were a child.” Mya laughed. She then introduced Xavier to their visitors, “This is my cousin, and this is Daisy. You’ve met her before 

Daisy Porter stood up, feeling a bit awkward as she looked at Xavier “Hi, Mr. Hanson!” 

She had only later learned that Xavier was indeed the heir of the Hanson family, someone her aunt tried to win over. She regretted her rushed decisions during their previous date and came to visit with the intention of making amends.. 

Daisy’s mother looked at Xavier with excitement. She hadn’t fared as well as Mya Though The Porters were also in business, it had always been struggling, nowhere near the size and success of the Hanson family. 

If her daughter could marry into the Hanson family, it would be considered a significant honour 

Xavier didn’t react to the Porters enthusiasm and didn’t even acknowledge Daisy’s greetings. He turned and headed for his study. 

Yvonne sat on the couch and saw the Porters’ cautious yet greedy demeanor. She scoffed, wondering if her mother was losing her mind. With Daisy’s lack of grace and refinement, it was a dream to think she could get Xavier’s attention.
