Chapter 1656 

Chuckling, Charlie said, “Enjoy yourself, but watch your step when it gets dark!” 

“I will!” Kya flashed a grin, her teeth gleaming white. 

Spotting a bug that caught her interest, Kya scampered off. Charlie watched her retreating figure before turning to Jonathan. “Send my regards to Mr. 

Jarvis.” 

“Alright,” Jonathan replied nonchalantly. “If you miss Kya, just let me know. I can take pictures of her for you.” 

With a hint of a smile, Charlie declined, “No need.” 

Jonathan’s gaze turned intense. “Then I’ll hang up.” 

“Okay.” 

After hanging up, Jonathan wore a pensive look. He could tell Charlie was serious this time, and yet Emily was becoming stubborn, 

Estelle didn’t want him to reveal Kya’s origins to Charlie. So, how could he let Charlie know it indirectly? 

As night fell, Emily took Kya to bed, while Estelle saw Mr. Jarvis to his room. 

“Did my brother mention when he’ll be back?” Estelle asked. 

“No. I couldn’t even reach him during the holidays. Did he call you?” Mr. Jarvis replied. 

Estelle shook her head, “I haven’t heard from my brother in almost a month.” 

Huffing in frustration, Mr. Jarvis said, “Don’t mention him. It makes me angry!” 

Estelle defended Gabriel, “My brother must be on a mission. It’s not convenient for him to contact us.” 

“He won’t come back unless he’s forced to. I’d be satisfied if someone just brought me his urn,” Mr. Jarvis scoffed. 

Frowning slightly. Estelle said, “That won’t happen. He’ll come back one day and stay by your side.” 

Mr. Jarvis chuckled, “I doubt I’ll live to see that day.” 

“Don’t say such things!” Estelle’s lips tightened. 

Seeing her seriousness, Mr. Jarvis quickly patted her hand, “I’m just joking. With my health, 111 at least live to see you and Jonathan have three kids, won’t 

|?” 

Estelle was silent. 

“Go get some sleep. I’ll chat with Wade for a bit, Mr. Jarvis said warmly 

“Don’t stay up too late!” Estelle reminded him before leaving him with Wade. 

Jonathan was waiting for her in the courtyard. As she approached, he took her hand and asked, “What did Grandpa say to you?” 

Estelle shook her head slightly, “Nothing much, just some stuff about my brother.” 

“Hasn’t he been back for a while?” Jonathan frowned. 

“Yes,” Estelle said softly, I’m thinking about how to persuade my brother to give up his position and come home to live as an ordinary person.” Jonathan held her hand as they walked back, “He now carries a lot of responsibility and holds back many powers. It’s really hard for him to step down.” 

Estelle insisted, “If we can step down, so can my brother. It’s all up to him.” 

Jonathan looked serious, “When I stepped down, it was extremely painful, It would be even more so for him.” 

Estelle stopped suddenly, her eyes thoughtful. “Do you think it was really that easy for him and me to step down?” 

Looking back, there were many doubts. Most importantly, after that incident, she and Xavier were quickly arranged by her brother to leave Tripe and 

return home
