Estelle shut off her phone and gazed out the window, where the bright sunshine cast a golden glow over the ancient castle. The light was vibrant and full of promise, and the castle's dignified presence seemed to merge into one, inspiring hope and resilience.
Simone's biggest regret, Estelle knew, must be having given birth to her.
But Simone shouldn't hate her. If she hadn't brought Estelle into this world, how could she have traded her for a daughter like Carmella? Sweet, talented Carmella, who made Simone so proud and happy. A daughter gained in exchange for Estelle.
Despite everything, Estelle's face was still pale, but her eyes were dark and clear as night skies. She clenched her phone tightly. It was indeed time to go back.
Before leaving, Evelyn and Amiee came to see her. Estelle took a moment to speak with Evelyn alone.
"Got any plans when you get back?" Estelle inquired.
Evelyn shook her head, her eyes lost. "I've cut ties with my foster parents, so I don't want to go back to Azeroth City. Lynn and I had plans to try our luck in B City, but now it's just me, and I don't want to go alone."
Estelle spoke softly, "Here's the thing. My mentor lost a granddaughter twenty years ago, a girl with a red birthmark on her back, about your age. That's why I suspect..."
Evelyn's eyes widened. "Are you saying I could be your mentor's granddaughter?"
Estelle nodded. "It's just a suspicion. So, I hope you'll come with me to J City, meet my mentor, and get a DNA test. Would you agree to that?"
Evelyn was too shocked to speak.
"You don't want to?" Estelle pressed.
"No, it's not that!" Evelyn's face was a picture of bewilderment. "It's just so unexpected. I never thought I'd find my birth parents."
After a pause, she added, "So, you've been helping me because I could be your mentor's granddaughter?"
Estelle admitted candidly, "Later on, yes. I saw the birthmark on your back in Zion's bar."
Understanding dawned on Evelyn, and she asked, curiously, "You say your mentor could be my grandfather. What about my birth parents?"
"Okay, I'll be quick," Estelle replied.
The two walked down the corridor, and Gabriel teased Jonathan, "Lucky we're leaving today."
It was no secret that Lambert had eyes for Estelle.
Jonathan replied with pride, "He's never been a threat to me."
He said this, but his eyes remained fixed on the two figures in the corridor, a glint of ice in his gaze.
Lambert, usually so carefree, wore a frown today, and his deep brown eyes held a touch of melancholy. "Are you sure you can't stay?"
Estelle nodded. "Yes, I'm sure."
"Then can I come visit you in C Country?" Lambert asked, his voice heavy with longing.

Why are the chapters from 61 so horrible to read. We cannot even make out a single line.completely and we cant even lessen the fonts to make it legible. It is such a killjoy....
