Victor's voice came through, but upon not hearing Carmella's response, he added urgently, "You're not having second thoughts, are you? Carmella's face went ashen as she reached for the phone.

Simone slapped her across the face and shouted into the phone, "Victor, where are you? Return our money now or I'm calling the cops this instant, and you and your sister can share a cell!"

Victor on the other end paused, then abruptly hung up.

When Simone tried to call back, Victor had already blocked her.
