Maggie froze for a moment, then burst out, "I can't believe this!"
She was livid. Striding over, she kicked Susie right in the face. "Picking on a kid not even three years old, are you even human?"
Susie, already in pain from a kick to the back by Estelle, was lying on the ground unable to get up. With Maggie's kick, she almost passed out from the pain.
Estelle scooped Kya into her arms, her voice cold and firm, "Take it outside. Don't let Kya see this!"
Maggie turned to look at Kya, her face turning blue with anger. "I'll handle it. Emily's looking for Kya. Take her back, and leave the rest to me!"
Estelle nodded and carried Kya away.
Maggie called over a couple of gardeners from the yard, had them drag Susie out through the side door, and dump her on the ground outside.
Susie, leaning against a nearby tree to get up, panicked. "Maggie, what are you doing?"
Maggie slapped her across the face. "That kid, the little princess of the James family, mine and Estelle's goddaughter. You dare to bully her, and you ask what I'm going to do?"
Susie was stunned.
Maggie then kicked her in the stomach, sending Susie staggering a few steps back, awkwardly falling to the ground.
Still not satisfied, Maggie noticed a patch of roses nearby. She grabbed Susie by the hair, dragged her over, and pressed the woman's face directly into the roses.
The winter roses had shed their leaves, leaving only stems and thorns. Susie was pricked all over her face, screaming in pain.
Maggie ordered the gardeners, "Tie her up!"
The gardeners immediately grabbed Susie, binding her to a tree.
With her face covered in blood, Susie struggled desperately. "Let me go, Maggie, what the hell do you want?"
Maggie watched her coldly, took a step back, and commanded the gardeners, "Do it!"
Estelle explained, "Kya ran into Susie, who scared her."
Emily's face turned cold instantly. "Where is she?"
It's one thing to have a problem with me, but picking on a child?
Estelle replied, "Don't worry about it. Maggie's already taking care of it."
Seeing the marks on Kya's neck, Emily choked up with emotion. "Just because I come from a humble background, does my child have to face discrimination too?"
"Emily!" Estelle frowned.
Estelle's sharp call brought Emily back to her senses. She took a deep breath, her voice choking, "I'm just... blaming myself too much."
"This trash deserves a lesson, don't take it to heart!" Estelle reassured her, patting her shoulder. "And you shouldn't doubt yourself. It's not your fault!"
