Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2587

Gab traveled in person to Hnesuan, where he signed the ceasefire agreement with H Country.

Only then was the matter truly settled, and Silver Valley’s dominance in the world of mercenaries had become unshakeable—no one would challenge it for the next fifty years.

When Gab returned from Hnesuan and arrived at Silver Valley, dawn had just broken.

He stepped out of the car and asked Bruce, who had come to meet him, “Is everything ready?”

Bruce replied, “Yes, we can take off whenever you wish. You didn’t sleep at all last night—shouldn’t you rest before heading out again?”

Gab shrugged off his coat, changed into a fresh shirt, and said quietly, “Sean is coming over this afternoon. Did you think I wouldn’t know what he’s up to?”

Bruce hesitated for a moment and lowered his voice. “Are you leaving in such a rush because you’re afraid Sean will stir up trouble, sir? Or… is there someone in C Country you want to see?”

Gab paused, his hand resting on his holster, then turned to look at Bruce.

Bruce immediately bowed his head. “I’ve overstepped, sir!”

Gab continued dressing, calm and unruffled. “You’re not wrong. I want to see my grandfather.”

With his head still lowered, Bruce raised an eyebrow out of Gab’s sight.

“I’m leaving now. If Sean shows up, tell him to turn around and go home. I don’t want any unnecessary drama,” Gab said, heading for the door. “Call me if there’s something urgent—but don’t make trouble if there isn’t!”

Bruce followed him out. “Understood, sir!”

Even if Sean tried to start something and demand Gab’s return, they’d have to wait until things settled down on his end. No matter what, they couldn’t disturb their revered Mr. Gab while he was busy courting a woman—not after what happened last time. The mood swings he’d brought back with him those first few days… no one wanted to live through that again.

After all, for a man in his mid-thirties, finding the right woman wasn’t easy.

Sensing something amiss, Gab suddenly stopped and shot Bruce a cold look.

Bruce straightened instantly. “Wishing you all the best, sir!”

The two of them sat in the dining room. Old Wade finished setting the table, then quietly withdrew, leaving grandfather and grandson alone.

Gabriel poured a glass of wine for Old Mr. Jarvis. “I’m back for good this time. I won’t be leaving again.”

Old Mr. Jarvis looked up in surprise, his eyes sharp and bright. After a moment, he nodded slowly. “Good, good. Whatever you decide, you have my full support.”

His hand trembled slightly as he raised his glass. Gabriel reached out to steady him, but Old Mr. Jarvis pulled away, then drained the wine in one go.

His voice was a little hoarse. “Now I can face your parents with a clear conscience.”

A heaviness settled in Gabriel’s chest. “You don’t owe them anything. They left too soon, and you raised me all by yourself. They’d only ever be grateful to you.”

Old Mr. Jarvis’s tone grew more somber. “Even so, I still worry that one day, if I see your father again, he’ll blame me.”

He paused, then smiled with genuine warmth. “But now it’s different. I’m not in any hurry to see him. I’ll wait until you’re married with children, and then I’ll have something to tell him about.”
