Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3619

In the suffocating silence, Carson suddenly stood up. His dark eyes locked onto Marina, devoid of any warmth. He spoke in a low, hollow tone. "Ms. Evert is absolutely right. We never liked each other. Everything we did was just an act to maintain this corporate alliance!"

"We were only together for mutual benefit. If that's the case, what does it matter who I marry?"

"My engagement to Marina is over, but the alliance between our families remains intact. The new candidate joining the Foster family will be..."

"Phoebe Evert!"

Marina's head snapped up. Carson hadn't broken eye contact with her once. His gaze was absolute poison, filled with pure spite and vengeance!

Her heart violently shuddered.

The room erupted in chaos. Miranda shouted, "Carson!"

Everyone was visibly stunned. Phoebe's heart pounded frantically against her ribs as she stared at Carson in sheer disbelief.

After a fleeting moment of secret delight, Charlotte quickly masked her face with mock outrage. "What is the meaning of this? Do you think our Phoebe is just some backup plan? This is a complete insult!"

Carson scoffed coldly. "An insult? I got engaged to Marina but realized the person I truly care about is Phoebe. Correcting a mistake before it's too late is just doing the right thing."

"It's settled. The engagement banquet will be held in three days!"

With that, the man swept a chilling glare over Marina, turned on his heel, and walked out.

The rest of the room remained in shock. Grandpa Foster slammed his teacup onto the table. "This is absolute madness!"

No one else spoke. They were entirely at a loss for words.

Marina watched his retreating back disappear through the door. Her fingertips trembled. She bit her lower lip, the sharp sting bringing tears to her eyes, and she was forced to look down to hide them.
