Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2633

It sounded like Jenny was winning again.

Sylvia walked half a step behind Gabriel, sheltered by his tall, imposing figure, his hand holding hers tightly as she followed his lead.

It was so quiet she could hear the rustle of wind through the leaves, the soft crunch of their shoes on the stone steps, and the sound of her own heart, beating with a vibrant, steady rhythm.

At the foot of the mountain, Grace was waiting for them.

Sylvia had called her earlier to let her know they were safe and give her an estimated arrival time, but Grace, ever worried, had driven down to meet them.

When Grace heard Jenny was hurt, her expression changed, but Jenny hopped right off Jonas’s back, looking perfectly fine. “It’s nothing, just a little twist. It’s all better now!”

Jonas, on the other hand, was exhausted. He leaned against the car, panting. Just as he was about to take credit for his heroic deed, Jenny cut in, “It was all Jonas’s fault. He insisted on carrying me. If I had walked myself, we would’ve been back at the manor ages ago.”

Jonas rolled his eyes, looking like he wanted to strangle her.

Grace pinched Jenny’s cheek. “Alright, you little troublemaker. You can cover Jonas’s class tomorrow as a thank you.”

“Deal,” Jenny said, then glanced at Jonas. “See how agreeable I can be?”

“We’ll see if I ever help you again,” Jonas grumbled.

Jenny just made a face at him, completely unfazed. It was as if she knew that no matter how much she teased or annoyed him, he would never actually abandon her.

“Alright, everyone get in the car,” Grace said with a smile.

Gabriel loaded the portfolios into the car. “Grace, you take them back. I’ll walk.”

It was a five-seater, and it would be a tight squeeze with everyone.

Tall trees lined both sides of the road, and the faint moonlight filtering through the leaves dappled the ground around her, making her look like an enchanting forest spirit who could steal a man’s soul.

In the dim light, the man’s eyes were dark and unreadable, catching only a sliver of light. He let out a low chuckle. “Let’s go.”

Streetlights, spaced far apart and shrouded by dense foliage, cast a hazy, dreamlike glow that felt more like moonlight than artificial light. On the quiet, dark asphalt road, they walked side-by-side. Ahead lay an endless stretch of darkness, while the mountain behind them loomed like a monstrous beast.

Walking in the darkness, it felt as though they were heading toward some unknown world.

But Sylvia felt no fear at all.

Gabriel walked much slower than usual, as if deliberately matching her pace.

As he slowed, so did she, until it felt less like they were heading somewhere and more like they were simply taking a stroll.
