Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2708

In the blink of an eye, it was the 27th.

Time flew by, yet the anticipation made it feel agonizingly slow.

Early in the morning, Mr. Hanson called Xavier. “Gonzalez, come home today. We’re going to the Lamont estate to offer our congratulations. As the eldest son of the Hanson family, you should be there with me for such an occasion.”

Xavier didn’t refuse this time. He had spoken with Jonathan the day before and confirmed his role as a groomsman, so he did need to make a trip over.

“Fine, I’m on my way home now.”

Mr. Hanson immediately beamed. “Drive carefully! We’ll be waiting for you at home.”

Around nine o’clock, Xavier arrived at the Hanson estate. Mrs. Hanson and Hannah Hanson were as welcoming as ever. In front of Mr. Hanson, she served him tea and called to the servants, “Quickly, bring out the fruit I prepared for Gonzalez.”

Three servants brought out various fruit platters, filling the entire coffee table.

Mrs. Hanson smiled. “I handpicked all this fruit myself, and then washed and cut it. What do you think, dear?”

Mr. Hanson looked at the exquisitely arranged platters and smiled. “You’ve put a lot of thought into it.”

He then turned to Xavier. “Have some.”

“I don’t like fruit,” Xavier said coolly. “Are we leaving now?”

Mr. Hanson frowned slightly. Hannah quickly shook her head at him, signaling that she was fine, and maintained her warm, gentle smile. “Gonzalez, we’re going to the Lamonts’ today, and you’re representing the Hanson family as the eldest son. You can’t dress too casually. I’ve prepared a few outfits for you. Please go upstairs and try them on.”

His expression turned cold, and he walked out without a word.

He had driven himself there, so he planned to drive himself to the Lamont estate as well. Just as he started the engine, someone knocked on his car window.

Xavier rolled down the window and looked at Yvonne standing outside, asking coldly, “What is it?”

Yvonne smiled gently. “Can I ride with you?”

“No,” Xavier said flatly. He stepped on the gas, and the black Wrangler roared away.

Yvonne nearly stumbled, hastily taking a few steps back. She stared at the car’s exhaust fumes, her face pale with anger.
