Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2718

Lambert's face fell. His deep-set eyes held a cool look.

“Mr. Scott, you can't use cultural differences to make fun of me. That's very rude!”

“Rude?” Manley sneered. “If Estelle hadn't told me to look after you, I'd have sold you off to some hillbillies. *That's* what I call polite!”

Lambert didn't understand, but he put on an angry expression, pretending that he did.

As they walked toward the main gate, Lambert saw “The Lamont Mansion” on the wall and finally understood. “This is Jonathan's house?”

Manley just smiled without a word, showed his invitation to the guards at the gate, and then led Lambert inside.

The Lamont family's ancestral home was a sprawling estate, with gardens between the villas, a Western-style lawn and swimming pool, and even a golf course.

Many guests had come to offer their congratulations today, and the grounds were crowded with people.

Lambert asked Manley, “It's not the wedding today, so why are we at the Lamonts' house?”

Manley stuck his hands in his pockets, his posture roguishly casual. He raised an eyebrow and smiled. “My dad asked me to come with him and schmooze. I just brought you along for the ride.”

Lambert was confused. “Why bring me? I'm Estelle's guest. I don't even know the Lamont family.”

Manley's lips curved into a dazzling smile. “Estelle told me to entertain you. I just remembered today!”

Lambert was silent.

He stopped, took three deep breaths, told himself not to get angry, and then continued to follow.

Both men were strikingly handsome, and with Manley's reputation as a playboy, it wasn't long before half a dozen girls came over to talk to him, all while stealing glances at Lambert.
