Yvonne had changed into a gold-and-gray gown that shimmered in the sunlight, making her look even more radiant.
“Jonathan!” Yvonne called out to him.
Jonathan's handsome face was impassive. The midday sun was scorching, but it did nothing to dispel the chill around him.
“Congratulations!” Yvonne said with a gentle smile.
“Thanks,” Jonathan replied, his tone cold and distant. He had no desire to talk to her and started to walk away.
Yvonne immediately stepped in front of him, blocking his path. With a feigned innocence in her arched brows, she said,
“You and Estelle are getting married. You're not still holding a grudge about the past, are you?”
Jonathan was dressed all in black, with only the sapphire cufflinks on his shirt glinting in the sun. With one hand in his pocket, he said coolly, “If either Ella or I gave you a second thought, you wouldn't have the chance to be standing here talking to me. Use your brain before you speak. Stop coming to me just to prove how stupid you are.”
The gentle smile on Yvonne's face froze. She bit her lip. “What I mean is, since you and Estelle are getting married, the past is in the past. I was hoping we could go back to the way things were.”
“What do you mean, ‘the way things were’?” the man asked in a low voice.
“To be friends again, like before. You, me, Charlie, and Josiah—we used to be so close. Because of Estelle, Charlie has grown distant, and Josiah ignores me. Could you put in a good word for me? Help us get back to how we were,” Yvonne pleaded.
“Because of Estelle?” Jonathan sneered. “Yvonne, when you finally figure out the real reason everyone abandoned you, then you can think about trying to patch things up. And another thing—”
His voice grew even colder. “Don't come to me again. I don't care about your relationship with Charlie and Josiah, but as for me, from the moment you hurt Estelle, we could never be friends again. Ever.”
“Jonathan!” Tears welled in Yvonne's eyes. She choked back a sob, looking both wronged and restrained. “It was my fault that I hurt Estelle, but have you and Estelle never hurt me?”
Lambert said, shocked, “A lesbian?”
Manley sneered and nodded. “Yeah. She's not even attractive, and she dares to have her eyes on Estelle. I've wanted to punch her for a long time.”
Lambert got a thoughtful look on his face. “I never thought my rivals in love would be so complicated. There's even a woman.”
Manley scoffed. “She's not worthy of even a single strand of Estelle's hair.”
Lambert nodded in agreement, then asked, confused, “What is she talking to Jonathan about?”
Manley sighed in frustration.
“You don't know. This woman is vicious. Since she can't get Estelle, she's playing dirty, shamelessly going after Jonathan to ruin his relationship with Estelle and achieve her own ulterior motives!”

As the plot thicken. Adrian is done for and he can't try to control Norah, so he'd probably tattle to Janice who's gone for two weeks. Thank you soooo much for the updates....
