Watching the woman’s red lips part and close, Arvin grew restless.
When they were filming together, Arvin had taken a liking to Yvonne, but she wasn’t like other actresses. Her family was wealthy and powerful, so she didn’t need to trade favors for opportunities.
Arvin started talking about a movie he was developing, which piqued Yvonne’s interest, and their conversation flowed more and more easily.
“I’ve been struggling to cast the female lead, but seeing you today, Ms. Yvonne, was a revelation. You’re the exact person I’ve been searching for!” Arvin poured Yvonne another glass of wine. “If you’re interested, Ms. Yvonne, the lead role is yours!”
Yvonne tilted her head back and drained the glass, her face flushed with an alluring blush. “I’d love to work with you, Mr. Arvin!”
Her speech was slurred, and her mind was growing foggy.
She shook her head, wondering why her tolerance for alcohol had suddenly plummeted. She’d only had two or three drinks, yet she was already drunk!
Arvin’s eyes glinted with a sinister light. “You seem drunk, Ms. Yvonne. Why don’t I take you home?”
Yvonne closed her eyes and shook her head. “No, I’m not going anywhere today. I’m staying right here at the Lamont estate!”
Arvin glanced around. “Then let me help you to a room so you can lie down for a bit.”
Yvonne was indeed feeling unwell. She pushed herself up, using the armrest for support.
Arvin gently steadied her. “Careful, Ms. Yvonne!”
“I’m fine!” Yvonne stumbled, shook her head slightly, and started walking toward the villa.
Arvin immediately followed.
Lambert watched them go, a flicker in his brown eyes and an amused smirk playing on his lips.
As Arvin led Yvonne toward the villa, they ran into a maid who had been looking for her. Seeing how drunk Yvonne was, the maid led them to a ground-floor guest room.
Once inside, the maid helped Yvonne lie down on the bed and asked Arvin, “Should I get Ms. Yvonne some tea to help her sober up?”
“Yes, go prepare some and bring it back,” Arvin said.
Yvonne wrapped her arms around the man, her eyes closed as she mumbled, “Jonathan… do you know… how long I’ve waited for this day?”
Arvin sneered inwardly. “I’ve been waiting for you for a long time too, Ms. Yvonne!”

Lambert leaned against the guest room door, watching the people milling about in the garden and listening to the celebratory din from the main hall. He found the whole situation laughable.
He never expected things to work out so perfectly without him lifting a finger.
After about ten minutes, he decided enough time had passed. He found a maid and pointed to the guest room door. “I left something in there, but the door is locked from the inside. Can you find a key and open it?”
The maid immediately went to fetch a key.
A few minutes later, the maid returned with the key, but Lambert was gone.
