Old Mr. Quintin looked at Old Mr. Jarvis, lost in thought, then slowly nodded. "I understand!"
"Good that you understand. The test hasn't been done yet, so it's normal for Vivian to have no feelings for Evelyn. Wait until after the results are in. Don't go scaring Vivian off again before we even know anything!" Old Mr. Jarvis huffed.
Old Mr. Quintin let out a long sigh. "Jarvis, tell me, was I wrong back then?"
Old Mr. Jarvis looked at him and smiled. "I'm surprised you're even asking that."
Old Mr. Quintin's voice was heavy. "I never thought I was wrong. But after all these years, looking at how things turned out... I can't help but wonder, where did it all go wrong?"
Old Mr. Jarvis pondered for a moment before saying slowly, "You weren't wrong. It was just a cruel twist of fate."
Old Mr. Quintin reached for his tea, took a sip, and swallowed the bitter sorrow down.
...
Evelyn walked into the courtyard and took a picture of the Jarvis family's rosewood veranda, posting it on Facebook.
"Checked into the Jarvis estate. Waiting to see Estelle off on her big day tomorrow."
Now that she was working, her contact list was full of friends, and the comments under her post exploded almost instantly.
"Evelyn, you're at the Jarvis estate in C City? You know KING?"
"We've been working together for so long, and I never knew you were such a socialite!!! My God, my entire worldview is being reshaped!"
"I heard all the verandas and pavilions at the Jarvis estate are made of rosewood, and even the large ceramic planters in the courtyard are antiques. Is that true? Evelyn, can you post more pictures?"
...
It sounded like she was talking to her family.
Evelyn slowed her pace, waiting for Sophia to finish her call before walking over with a bright smile. "Sophia!"
Sophia stood up, gave a slight nod, and, not wanting to chat, turned to go inside.
Evelyn followed, walking beside her. "Sophia, you and Jason are together now. I haven't had a chance to congratulate you yet!"
Sophia's reply was polite but distant. "Thank you."
Evelyn smiled amicably. "Actually, I always thought Jason liked you. He's always been so sensitive about anything concerning you and even misunderstood me, thinking I disliked you. But why would I? I'm my grandfather's granddaughter, and you're his student. We're completely different, and there's no conflict between us at all!"
Sophia stopped, her pretty face turning cold. "What are you trying to say?"

As the plot thicken. Adrian is done for and he can't try to control Norah, so he'd probably tattle to Janice who's gone for two weeks. Thank you soooo much for the updates....

I forgot to add Amy to the group of pregnant women, since she was the first. Emily and Sylvia better be careful since pregnancy is in the air....
