Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2733

"Sophia!"

Magdalen approached from the courtyard, her bright eyes sweeping over Sophia's tense face before she smiled faintly. "Ella was just looking for you. You should go."

"Okay." Sophia nodded slightly, avoiding Evelyn's gaze as she walked away.

Magdalen didn't leave immediately. She watched Evelyn with a radiant smile. "What do you think of Sophia, Evelyn?"

Unsure of Magdalen's intentions, Evelyn's eyes flickered, but her smile grew even more harmless. "Sophia's wonderful. She has a great personality and temper!"

Magdalen said, "Sophia's good-tempered because she was raised well and has been protected by Jason her whole life. She hasn't experienced much of the world's deceit and isn't one for arguments. But..."

Her gaze sharpened, her smile turning piercing. "Her good temper doesn't mean she's weak. After all, she's the only cherished daughter of the Jones family and the future daughter-in-law of the Gilder family. With that kind of backing, anyone who thinks she's a pushover either has boiling water for brains or no brains at all!"

Evelyn's expression shifted slightly.

Magdalen continued, "It's Ella's big day, so I won't say more. Evelyn, don't cause any trouble for Ella at a time like this. You can be on bad terms with anyone, but you absolutely cannot do wrong by Ella!"

Evelyn's face paled, and she forced a weak smile. "You're overthinking things, Ms. Sampson. I was just chatting with Sophia. I would never disrupt Estelle's wedding."

"That's for the best!" Magdalen's features were bold and stunning. "Go keep Mr. Quintin company. That's your most important role here!"

Even with her composure, Evelyn's face changed at Magdalen's words.

Magdalen turned and walked away. Her shoulder-length hair was styled in soft, cloud-like curls, giving her a bold and glamorous look. The large diamond hoops on her ears caught the sunlight, creating dazzling arcs as she walked away with unhurried grace in her high heels.

The sun was warm, but Evelyn felt a chill run through her. She leaned against a porch column, not moving for a long time.

The courtyard was a riot of color, with many newly transplanted rare flowers added for the occasion. The blossoms, arranged at varying heights, created a scene of lush splendor against the backdrop of the exquisitely carved and ornate courtyard, adding to its elegance and grandeur.

It was Manley. He had sent her a photo.

It was a selfie of him leaning against a winding wooden veranda, one eye half-closed, his lips a vivid red. His pose was languid, and with the backdrop of layered courtyards and pavilions, he looked like a wealthy young gentleman from a bygone era.

Estelle pressed her lips into a slight smile and said to Magdalen and the others, "A friend has arrived. I'm going to go see him."

Magdalen waved her off. "Go on. Don't worry about a thing, we've got it covered!"

Estelle smiled and headed out.

Using the background in the photo as a guide, Estelle quickly found Manley.

He was still sitting there, dressed in a white shirt and a slim-fitting black vest. He had put on a pair of glasses at some point, their thin gold frames catching the dappled shadows cast by the sun filtering through the flowering branches. It gave him a vintage look, as if he had stepped out of another time.
