It was really spoiling his mood.
"It seems Eugene still likes Sylvia a lot. He's trying to win her back," Georgia observed. "Should I call her over?"
"No need," the man said, lowering his gaze to his drink and refusing to look in Sylvia's direction again.
However, a few minutes later, when Georgia looked up, she saw five or six men surrounding Sylvia, laughing and talking animatedly, though she couldn't hear what they were saying.
"Are they causing trouble?" Georgia asked, concerned.
Gabriel looked at the men around Sylvia, but this time, a slow smile spread across his lips. "No. Don't worry about it."
*
The men surrounding Sylvia were Sean, Bruce, and the others. Their numbers were enough to physically squeeze Eugene to the side.
Eugene was about to protest when Sean, with one arm casually slung over Bruce's shoulder, grinned roguishly. "We're old friends of Ms. Jarvis. Haven't seen her in ages. Would you mind giving us some space to catch up, pal?"
His tone was polite, but his expression clearly said, *You're moving, whether you like it or not.*
It was that simple. That arrogant.
Eugene looked at Sylvia in surprise.
Sylvia gave him an apologetic look. "They are my friends. I'm sorry about this."
"It's fine, don't worry about it," Eugene said quickly.
Although these men were impeccably dressed in suits, they all carried a dangerous, predatory aura that ordinary people lacked. Feeling a bit uneasy, Eugene said to Sylvia, "I won't go far. Call me if you need anything."
"I told you it was just a joke. It's fine, I've already forgotten about it," Sylvia said with a light laugh. To show she truly wasn't upset, she drank the wine in her own glass as well.
Bruce also poured a full glass. "I don't know what Sean did, but knowing his track record, he definitely offended you. So I'll drink to you on his behalf, Ms. Jarvis."
Sylvia stopped him with a gentle reproach. "What are you all doing? It's been a few years, have you forgotten who I am?"
Bruce grinned. "We don't know you at all, Ms. Jarvis. You must be mistaken."
Sylvia nodded. "Well then, let's get reacquainted today."
She poured herself another drink, her eyes shining with genuine happiness. She wanted to drink with them.
"Don't do this one by one. I'll toast all of you. Let's drink together!"
