Norah's spirits soared. "I'll do my best!"
Her excitement grew. "Estelle, I've realized you're our family's lucky charm! As soon as you showed up, Jonathan's marriage problem was solved, and you brought me such a wonderful boyfriend. I just adore you!"
Estelle raised an eyebrow and smiled helplessly. "I think you're just crazy about Xavier!"
"If he liked me back, I'd gladly be crazy!" The girl's face was radiant, her expression vibrant and determined.
"Norah, hurry up! Stop clinging to Estelle!" Janice Harper called from behind.
"Coming!" Norah answered, muttering under her breath, "What's wrong with clinging for a bit? Anyway, once we leave, Estelle will be all Jonathan's!"
She grumbled as she hurried over to Janice.
Finally, it was just Estelle and Jonathan again.
In the vast estate, they held each other in a quiet embrace, listening to the sound of each other's heartbeats, each one beating for the other.
For the rest of the afternoon, they were like they had been when they first got together, inseparable no matter where they went.
They napped together, woke up to lock eyes and kiss, and sat on the balcony sofa to watch the sunset...
As evening approached, Jonathan cooked while Estelle set out beautiful plates and bowls.
They had a candlelight dinner together under the stars.
Then, to Estelle's delight, Max and Milo came running over.
That night, Estelle heard the sound of bells almost constantly.
Tinkling, sometimes urgent, sometimes gentle, but always crisp and pleasant. Even in her sleep, her dreams were filled with the melodious and cheerful ringing.
The light turned green, and he stepped on the gas. "Evelyn won't leave the Quintin family easily, and Old Mr. Quintin will probably protect her. But will Georgia tolerate her presence? All the issues that were suppressed before will resurface with a vengeance."
Estelle looked thoughtful. "I also feel like Evelyn has changed somehow."
"Various factors have led to this situation, and it's not something you can control," Jonathan said. "Right now, we can only hope that Evelyn is Georgia's daughter. That would solve everything."
Estelle leaned over and rested her head on his shoulder. "So, let's just postpone our honeymoon for a few days."
She rested her chin on his arm and smiled. "I don't care where we go for our honeymoon. Even if we're just in J City, as long as I get to see you every day, I'm happy."
Jonathan shot her a look, a glint in his deep eyes. "Can you save that kind of talk for tonight?"
Estelle's lips curved into a smile as she leaned against his shoulder and looked out the window.
The sun was bright, the scenery was beautiful, and her mood was just as good.
