“Norah!” Nicolas shouted at Norah’s retreating figure. “No matter what, I really love you, I really do!”

Norah didn’t even look back.

The birthday party had already been set up on the lawn in the backyard, under the huge sun umbrella, the long table was full of various dishes, desserts, cocktails and large pink balloons. Swimsuits were laid out near the swimming pool for everyone. Lillie and her friends were eating, drinking, chatting, and having a blast.

Estelle was sitting on a swing and raised her eyebrows at Norah as she walked over by herself.

Norah responded with a casual smile.

“Norah!” Sara called out. “Your pool is so huge! We’re going to have a swimming race – you in?”

“Count me in!” Norah walked over briskly.

Khloe and the others noticed that Norah was alone, with Nicolas nowhere to be found. Although puzzled, they didn’t dare to ask and just crowded around Norah, putting a wreath of flowers on her head and wishing her a happy birthday.

When Nicolas returned to the rental house, he saw Leah in her pajamas, looking for something in the bedroom with messy bed hair. Her face was oily and covered with a few dark spots after staying up all night, which looked disgusting.

Nicolas stared at her blankly, thinking about Norah’s adorable, healthy figure, and felt more and more depressed. How could he have chosen Leah over Norah? In terms of family background, Leah wasn’t nothing compared to Norah!

Leah never thought her family would go bankrupt. The money her father gave her was never enough to cover her expenses, let alone have any savings. She couldn’t help but get angry. “What’s wrong with me living here? I paid for this house, so it’s you living in my home!”

The more Nicolas looked at Leah, the angrier he became. “You think I enjoy spending your money? If it wasn’t for you, Norah wouldn’t have broken up with me!”

“Bullshit!” Leah glared back. “You’re just a mooch! If it wasn’t for me, could you even stay in my dad’s company? If it wasn’t for me, could you even afford this place, you ungrateful bastard?!” 

“Slap!”

Leah was slapped across the face, looking at Nicolas in shock. Before site could react, he slapped her again!
