Chapter 286
“Mr. Lamont!” Sabina said gently, “The meeting is about to begin!”
Jonathan looked up upon hearing her voice, his smile fading to a cold expression. “I’ll be right there!”
“Okay!” Sabina turned and walked gracefully out of the room.
Jonathan typed on his phone, [Gotta go, I have a meeting.]
[Okay.]
It took Jonathan a whole minute to put his phone away after reading Estelle’s short reply. Then he headed for the conference room.
Estelle placed her phone on the grass, hugging Max’s neck, enjoying the cool breeze, the corner of her lips unconsciously raising.
After lunch, Estelle left Villa del Sol and returned to the city.
Just arriving at the Royal Mansion, Estelle got a call from Bennett. “Estelle, it’s Dad!”
“I know,” she replied flatly. “What’s up?”
Bennett chuckled, “Your grandma Elizabeth is having a birthday party at home this Saturday. I’ll pick you up.”
“Well!” Estelle had no choice but to agree. “You don’t have to go out of your way to get me. I’ll get there on my own!”
“Alright, just come early!” Bennett instructed. “Carmella and your cousin Sabina already bought gifts for grandma. I’ll send you some money later, so don’t forget to buy her a present.”
Estelle said, “made some money from my part–time job, it was enough to buy a gift.”
“Come on, how much can a student make from a summer job?” Bennett hesitated and then added, “Your grandma likes jewelry, so get her something a little nicer.”
Feeling a bit puzzled, Estelle wondered why Bennett, who only occasionally asked if she needed money, would suddenly give her 100,000 yuan for Elizabeth’s birthday gift. What was he trying to do?
“Being busy is good!” Terrence nodded, holding his teacup. “Is she still working with Jonathan?”
“Yes, and Mr. Lamont has been really taking care of her!” Natalia said proudly, seemingly understanding Terrence’s meaning. “Today, I’ll bring an invitation for Mr. Lamont, just as a courtesy for Sabina’s sake. I’m sure he’ll come!”
Terrence thought for a moment and shook his head. “That won’t do. If it were my birthday party, inviting Mr. Lamont would be fine. But this is your mother’s party, and he might not be willing to come. Instead, send the invitation to the Lamont family’s old residence and invite Mr. Lamont’s mom, Cathrine!”
Natalia realized the wisdom of his words. “You’re right. That’s more thoughtful!”
Elizabeth handed Natalia a delicate invitation. “The invitation for the Lamont family is already prepared. We were just too timid to send it, fearing they might not be interested. But now that Sabina is a part of their lives, it seems less awkward to send the invitation.”
Natalia accepted the invitation with both hands, nodding her head. “Alright. It’s a bit late today, so I’ll have someone deliver it to the Lamont family
tomorrow.”
That night, Natalia called Sabina into her room to discuss the matter of delivering the invitation to the Lamont family.
