Sabina said, “Though our Macclain family isn’t as prestigious as the Lamont family, we’re not some nobodies either. It’s just an invitation, so just send it openly. No need to look for any excuses!”

Natalia nodded slowly, “Your grandparents are more conservative, but you’re much more open–minded.”

Sabina just smiled faintly without replying.

Natalia chuckled, “Even though it’s your grandmother’s birthday celebration, I still hope you can invite Jonathan. If he comes, wouldn’t it show your status in the Lamont Group?”

Sabina suddenly remembered the scene she saw in the CEO’s office this afternoon and was a bit dazed, only replying after a while, “I think grandpa’s right. It’s grandma’s birthday, and most of the guests are wives. It’s not quite appropriate to invite Mr. Lamont. Besides, he doesn’t seem to like attending these kinds of events.”

The next day, Cathrine received the invitation from the Macclain family.

She discussed with Norah, “We don’t usually have much contact with the Macclain family. Should we go or not?”

Cathrine pondered, “Even though the marriage has been dissolved, we still had that relationship, so it’s awkward whether we go or not.”

Norah wasn’t convinced, “Our marriage with the Macclain family was a business deal anyway. It doesn’t matter what we send, since we won’t have much to do with them in the future!”

“That’s true, but we were once in–laws, so we can’t just let the Macclain family think we’re unreliable.”

As Cathrine spoke, she picked up the phone and called Millard, telling him about sending a birthday gift to the Macclain family.
