Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2868

A servant, who was setting the table, came over and said, “Sir, Evelyn called. She said she won’t be back for lunch.”

Evelyn had left early that morning, saying she needed to work overtime at the office.

Old Mr. Quintin nodded. “I understand.”

Don entered through the side door, greeting Gabriel and Sylvia with warmth. He was dressed in a light blue polo shirt, his brown hair neat, and looked both handsome and gentlemanly.

Sylvia asked, “Are you settling in well here in J City, Mr. Anderson?”

Don smiled. “Yes, I am. I’ve gotten used to the food and accommodations just fine. And I have to say, Mr. Quintin’s collection of antiques and paintings is truly astonishing. It’s made me realize my understanding of this country was really quite shallow.”

Old Mr. Quintin laughed heartily. “My collection is nothing. If you ever get a chance, you should visit Old Mr. Jarvis’s house. Now, that’s a place that will truly leave you in awe.”

“Really?” Don’s eyes widened with genuine surprise.

Everyone chuckled. Old Mr. Jarvis said kindly, “You’re welcome at my home anytime!”

“I’ll definitely have to see it for myself.”

Everyone took their seats. The atmosphere was cheerful and relaxed, with no hint of awkwardness.

During lunch, Georgia asked Sylvia, “Do you have any plans for this afternoon?”

Sylvia replied, “No, I’m off today.”

Georgia said softly, “Then you should stay home tonight.”

Sylvia nodded. “From now on, I’ll be staying here.”

Both Georgia and Old Mr. Quintin were pleasantly surprised. Old Mr. Quintin’s smile deepened, adding a few more wrinkles at the corners of his eyes. “That’s how it should be. A family ought to live together.”
