As the three of them chatted, Old Mr. Jarvis grinned and nudged Old Mr. Quintin, “Just look at Gab and Sylvia—don’t they make a perfect pair?”

Old Mr. Quintin, however, was feeling more and more reluctant to let Sylvia go. The thought that she might get married and move to C City, making her visits rare, made his heart ache. He bristled and said, “I don’t see it.”

Old Mr. Jarvis shook his head. “You need your eyes checked.”
