On Saturday, Jonathan asked Estelle what she was doing today before going out.

Estelle replied casually, “A classmate’s grandma is having a birthday, so I’m going to join the fun.”

Jonathan gave her a glance, smiling, “Are you joining the fun or just going for the free cake?” 

Estelle shrugged, “Why not both?”

Jonathan laughed, with a hint of indulgence in his expression. “Where does your classmate live? I’ll have Millard drive you there!” 

“No need, I’ll just take a cab!” Estelle said, waving her hand at him. “You still have to go to H City today, so you should get going now!”

“Alright, I’ll pick you up at the Midnight Bar tonight. Be good!” Jonathan pinched her chin, kissed her lips, and left.

Millard had informed Jonathan in advance that he would be sending gifts in the name of Cathrine to Elizabeth’s birthday celebration. Jonathan didn’t mind and went to H City with Brooks.

Estelle arrived at the Macclain family villa around nine. The inside and outside of the villa were decorated.

A servant led Estelle to the living room.

It was still early, and guests hadn’t arrived yet, but the Macclain family was already gathered in the living room, chatting and laughing around

Elizabeth.

When Estelle entered, she saw Elizabeth in a dark red long dress sitting in the middle of the sofa, with Sabina and Carmella nearest to her. The room was bustling and lively.

Simone saw Estelle and awkwardly turned her head away, pretending not to see her.

She took Estelle’s gift and, without looking at it, she placed it on the pile of various other gift boxes.

“Really?” Elizabeth laughed, looking at Estelle. “You’re working too? What kind of job did you find?”

Natalia also looked over, grinning, “Estelle is still in college, right? Where do you do your internship?”

Estelle pursed her lips and didn’t say anything. Bennett urged her, “Tell grandma and aunt what kind of job you found.”

Estelle finally spoke, “I’m a waitress at Midnight Bar.”

The moment her words fell, the room went silent. Even Terrence, who was drinking tea, looked towards Estelle with a cold expression.

Corley and Stanley Macclain showed surprise, scanning Estelle from head to toe with sneering smiles.

Bennett was also stunned, asking Estelle in a low voice, “Weren’t you tutoring? When did you go to Midnight Bar?”
