Estelle looked just as she always did: a simple blouse, her features delicate, her expression calm and clear. With a smile, she stepped forward. “How could I miss your reunion banquet?”
Sylvia gave Estelle a gentle hug, her eyes filled with happiness. “Estelle, I’m truly glad to see you!”
“Congratulations,” Estelle replied with a warm smile.
“Thank you!”
Magdalen chimed in, dissatisfied, “So you’re only happy to see Ella, but not me? I brought her here with me just to surprise you!”
Sylvia laughed, “Of course, I’m happy to see you too!”
Magdalen spread her arms. “Well then, what are you waiting for? Come give me a hug!”
With a smile sparkling in her eyes, Sylvia walked over and gave Magdalen a big hug.
Nearby, Sophia was clutching Jason’s arm, giggling with delight.
Estelle went around greeting everyone.
Old Mr. Quintin was beaming with joy. “When did you get back? Old Mr. Jarvis didn’t even tell me!”
Estelle replied, “Grandpa wanted it to be a surprise for you!”
Old Mr. Quintin let out a hearty laugh. “Today is such a good day, I’ll let it slide.”
Old Mr. Jarvis huffed to Estelle, “See how petty he is.”
Everyone burst out laughing. After the greetings, the group made their way into the banquet hall. Old Mr. Quintin, dressed formally, held Georgia’s hand in his left and Sylvia’s in his right, his usually stern face lit up with a constant smile.
Already, the hall was filling with guests. As the Quintin family entered, everyone stood up to offer congratulations, and before long, the atmosphere turned lively and festive.
Magdalen lowered her voice to ask Estelle, “Now that Sylvia’s been welcomed back, shouldn’t her engagement to Gabriel move ahead?”
Estelle answered, “I just got back yesterday so I haven’t had a chance to talk to Gabriel. They both like each other, so I doubt there’s a problem.”
Magdalen smiled knowingly. “Lots of happy events this year!”
Estelle just smiled back at her, saying nothing as she enjoyed her candy.
Jonathan’s parents had also arrived and were seated at the main table. The whole group chatted and laughed together, the atmosphere growing warmer and more cheerful by the minute.
Charlie James, Carson Foster, and several others who couldn’t make it had all sent congratulatory gifts.
Even though reporters weren’t allowed, the reunion banquet was still a grand affair.
Evelyn came over to pour tea for Old Mr. Quintin. Catherine Lamont recognized her and greeted her with a gentle smile, “Aren’t you Evelyn?”
Evelyn gave an embarrassed smile. “Mrs. Lamont.”
She had stayed with the Lamonts for two days and they had taken good care of her, but she hadn’t visited them since.
Sensing Evelyn’s discomfort, Old Mr. Quintin quickly spoke up to put her at ease. “Evelyn might not be my biological granddaughter, but we really get along—so I consider her my god-granddaughter.”

As the plot thicken. Adrian is done for and he can't try to control Norah, so he'd probably tattle to Janice who's gone for two weeks. Thank you soooo much for the updates....
