Henson's curiosity only grew. "How did Gonzalez react?"
"He..." Norah remembered his grip on her, and in the dim light, her cheeks burned crimson again.
She tried to push past the embarrassing memories, trying to recall his exact reaction after she kissed him.
But the way things escalated had caught them both off guard. Her mind had completely short-circuited, and she had turned and bolted. Thinking back on it now, she couldn't even remember what expression he'd had on his face.
But he hadn't pushed her away.
Or maybe he had resisted for a fleeting second, only to give in to her alcohol-fueled boldness. After that, he seemed to take the lead.
They had kissed for a long time.
Norah couldn't help but blush again. Thank goodness the balcony was dark enough to hide it.
Henson took one look at her face and figured it out. He couldn't help but feel happy for her. "Not bad. You won him over pretty quick!"
Norah raised an eyebrow, pressing her lips into a smile. "It's not certain yet. Don't say that too soon."
"Keep at it," Henson said bluntly. "Kiss him a few more times and you'll lock it down."
Norah was stunned by his audacity, feeling a mix of embarrassment and amusement. Would she ever get such a perfect opportunity again?

Xavier sat in the backyard for a long time before finally heading upstairs.
Zachary and the rest of the crew were back upstairs, drinking and playing cards. Someone called out to him, and he gave a vague response before retreating to his room.
Pushing the door open, he immediately frowned.
Circe, who was supposed to be sleeping out in the yard, had somehow snuck through the window and was now curled up perfectly in the center of his bed, looking utterly comfortable.
He didn't like Circe. He was always gruff with the kitten, yet for some reason, Circe adored clinging to him and always snuck onto his bed to sleep.
This couldn't go on.
The thought only grew stronger.

The next day, Monday.
Early in the morning, just as Damian and the crew finished breakfast, someone knocked on the door. A group of men wearing white gloves carried in a square wooden coffee table.
One look was all it took to know the table cost a fortune.
Xavier came downstairs. The delivery manager handed him a clipboard. "Hello, where would you like the coffee table?"
Damian peeked at the receipt and his jaw dropped at the price. "Is this an antique? It's so expensive!"
The manager eagerly began explaining the premium wood and craftsmanship used for the table.

As the plot thicken. Adrian is done for and he can't try to control Norah, so he'd probably tattle to Janice who's gone for two weeks. Thank you soooo much for the updates....
