Estelle nestled in his embrace, her thoughts a tangled mess over Xavier and Norah. Only the crisp, cool scent of the man beside her brought her peace.

When he arrived at the hospital, Hannah Hanson, Yvonne, and some of the company's senior executives were all there.

Hannah immediately stepped forward, her face full of worry, and explained what happened.

"Gonzalez, you're finally here! Your father was fine earlier in the evening. He just missed you a little and kept mentioning how long it's been since you came home. Before bed, he brought it up again. In the middle of the night, he suddenly grabbed my hand, and I realized something was wrong. I turned on the light and saw his face had turned purple, and he couldn't speak. I quickly had the driver bring him to the hospital."
