The vicious arrowhead sliced through the air with a faint, trembling hum. The atmosphere in the office instantly turned suffocatingly tense.
Watching the cold steel tip hurdle toward him, the color drained from Luke's face. He trembled violently, on the verge of losing control of his bladder.
Thwack!
The arrow embedded itself in the wall just a fraction of an inch from Luke's scalp. The shaft vibrated wildly, the buzzing sound sending a terrifying chill down his spine.
Luke's heart, which had leaped into his throat, plummeted. The sound of the arrow striking the wall nearly gave him a heart attack.
Before he could even exhale, a second arrow flew.
Once again, Luke was forced to experience the visceral terror of a near-death experience.
Three arrows were fired. Luke stood pinned against the wall, an arrow just above his head and one grazing each of his arms.
Gonzalez, however, seemed dissatisfied. He shook his head slightly. "Still not challenging enough."
He picked up a black blindfold from the desk, slipped it over his eyes, and raised the bow once more.
Luke's psychological defenses shattered completely. "Mr. Hanson! Boss! I'm sorry, I was wrong! I'll get to work on the H City investment plan immediately! I swear I'll have it on your desk before the end of the day!"
Gonzalez's expression remained perfectly neutral, devoid of any anger or amusement. He reached up, pulled off the blindfold, and tilted his head toward the terrified executive. "Isn't that a rather tight deadline?"
"Not at all! I already have a draft ready!" Luke stammered, his face ashen as he nodded frantically.
Gonzalez nodded in approval and lowered the bow. "Then I won't keep you from your work. Back to it, Luke."
Seeing the weapon lowered, Luke finally felt his soul return to his body. Leaning heavily against the wall, he peeled himself away from the three arrows pinning him in place. His legs felt like jelly.
"I—I'll get right on it, boss."
Gonzalez began tidying up his equipment, waving a dismissive hand. "Go."
Looking incredibly cautious, Luke backed away slowly, opened the door, and fled.

Someone needs to send a new picture of Trevor to Oliver and Luke so that they will get their requested reports to Gonzalez asap. If they didn't know, now they know what awaits them if they continue to disrespect and NOT follow orders....
Well, well, well. I love how Gonzalez sent out the warning that he's the CEO and either they will acknowledge him as such or get their due diligence. I'm waiting to see how the Franco family will be walking on eggs and come into a new understanding of Gonzalez taking charge. Thank you so much for the five updates....
Adrian is hoping that he has a chance with Norah and will do everything and anything in his power to keep Norah and Xavier apart....
Thank you for the updates. I hope that Norah will remember Xavier and their relationship before the accident and that they will ever be to....
